Muzchap 8,966
That's a bit harsh mate and rude.In no way has he disrespected our club.Lol he's old and can get away with saying what he wants Just add him to your ignore list - forum's a lot better then
Bosnian Blue 2,471
You know what i meant!! Bertand had been getting playing time before that.... in terms of debuts, it was nice to see,.,,,He did make an odd appearance, is it even comparable to the fact he got a CL final start ?Bosingwa was a second choice RB in the AVB era, don't try to minimize what Robbie did there.Debuts are ok, but even Nemanja Matic (random name) got a debut, yet he never got a proper chance. If we can even get one of these academy players to become quality, even if they are subs, it will make my decade.(For entertainment purposes, defenders dont count! )

didierforever 7,349
True, but Piazon and Ake got a run out, something i would have never expected Di Matteo to do/Not that they were pulled up though him, but he gave them a chance....and that was heartwarming, considering the last few years where none of our managers even gave youngsters bench positions.ryan bertrand??? in a champions league final over sturridge/malouda/ferreira...sam hutchinson when leading 5-0 to qpr (probably the only time we had such a scoreline under rdm)

Rupert 130
I like to see the posts talking about the possibility that Rafa might be hired long-term. However, they overlook one thing. It will be for Rafa and Abromovich to decide - not just Abromavich. Rafa turned down Chelsea's offer of a temporary contract when AVB was sacked. This time he accepted an 18 month contract with an opt-out for both parties after the end of this season. Rafa wanted that. He has other irons in the fire. He has been approached by Real Madrid several times in the past and this year that interest has been revived. He has bee approached by two other Spanish clubs, a leading German club, a leading Italian club, two national teams and some far eastern clubs. There is also the outside chance that Man City, Arsenal and LFC will be vacant come the summer. He has consistently said he prefers to work in the PL because he likes the football culture and because he wants to give his two daughters and his wife stability. (His wife's charity was voted charity of the year on the Wirral last week). The Chelsea job gives him a platform to demonstrate his qualities and win trophies. If it ends in the summer nobody will be able to say he was sacked because officially it is an interim appointment. If Ab does offer an extended contract Rafa will be in a position to bargain the terms. In the meantime he is free to negotiate a contract with other clubs without being accused of disloyalty. Not a bad position for him.

Not a bad position for him. Bollocks, he has been in the wilderness since inter sacked him and no club would touch him with a barge pole, he needed this job more than we needed him, I believe the sole reason that roman chopped RDM to bring tubby in is in a vain last effort to get that nancy torres firing and to look like at least worth half what we paid him, TFSW has been drip feeding to the press since he was sacked about how he can get torres scoring romans bought into that hence why he is here, if torres wasnt here nor would he its as simple as that, and he would still be twiddling his thumbs waiting for the right opportunity to come along facht. rafafan 10
Meet the man that is Benitez .http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2254994/Rafael-Benitez-buys-ticket-conned-Chelsea-fan-Harry-Rennell.html#ixzz2Ga0wLLbdAlso regarding his work at the LFC academy started in 2009, well he ripped up the old blue print of youth football that LFC had and employed 3 people in key positions, Frank Mcparland, Rodolfo Borell and pep Segura who are both spanish and from the La masia set up at barcelona.Rafa started his coaching career with the real Madrid Youth team, so he knows a bit about bringing talent through, The great raul was one of his proteges from the youth team. The blue print was to get the entire club from under 8- to the first team playing in the same structure, same system, and produce local and British players and combine them with the best imports of young talent around the world, with the emphasis being on skill, team, tactical and talent development. The club has produces 12 graduates in the last 2 seasons, with the best ones yet to come., watch out for raheem sterling, but fernandes suso is going to be really special ( a david silva, juan mata, in the making.) Incidentally Pep Guardiola , regards, rodolfo borell and johan cruyff as his mentors.

Also by the way Roman Abromovich is not going to take such a HUGE risk and FIGHT with his supporters if he did not have plans with Rafa ! He has offers from real madrid, and other places to analyze this summer, but I think he loves the PL, loves Liverpool, anything could happen. We would carry him back in a golden charriot if our clueless owners allow us. strong centreback 157
Rafa was signed because he was the best around that was available and ready for work , nothing to do with Torres. You tell your self that, thats why I believe he was given the job, RDM was dumped at the earliest opportunity this bad run people say we were on doesn't really exist it is a white wash put out to take away from the glaringly obvious that RDM wasnt wanted and as soon we hit a small rough patch he was history. In RDM last ten matches we had a 4-1 win against norwich, win 4-2 at tottenham, lose to shakhtar 2-1 in ukraine, lose to united 3-2 in that game then beat them 5-4 in the league cup, draw against swansea 1-1, beat shakhtar 3-2, draw 1-1 with the mickeys, then lose to west brom and juventus. Now to put that into context, away in ukraine is always a hard place to go and shakthar are not a bad team by any stretch, that second rate prick clattenberg cost us against united, swansea have also got points against united and arsenal (and if you want to include them liverpool too), liverpool always seem to be able to rise to the occasion against us no matter how bad there form/side is its almost like a cup final for them so dropping points against them isnt totally unexpected, west brom have also got points from tottenham and everton (and if you want to include them liverpool too) currently 7th and this seasons over achievers, juventus loss a gamble back fired not gonna try and defend that one.If you include the 4 matches prior to that you also have a win at arsenal a win against stoke that crap danish team and a big win against wolves, in my book all season the only results in which you could objectively point the finger at robbie was the european games, other than that the results were no worse than anything united or city have had this year and neither of their managers had to put up with having basically one striker to choose from who is hopelessly out of form and doesnt look ever getting it back or won the champions league from a seemingly impossible position last year, the champions league group run wasnt great to add weight to the other side of the argument but we had a very tough group and like I said were basically playing with 10 men with torres up top, robbie was absolutely fucking shafted and it makes me angry going back over it again in my mind.Im almost 100% in my mind that if we had signed RVP in the summer we would be top by a dozen or so points we would of negotiated the champions league group to qualify for the knockout stages and robbie would be sitting in the dugout. For the first time in bloody years everything was perfect, a club legend in charge won the champions league things going well in a transition year new exciting players brought in, not since the end of joses second season had things looked so bright for the club and roman goes and fucks it up, it actually makes me feel sick having TFSW in charge. Redknapp? He will have us resigning Joe Cole and loads of other shower.Name me one better manager that we could have got in such short notice? If Hiddink was a free agent then i could maybe understand the annoyance but their was no one better around. It wasn't perfect under Robbie, far from it, i would not have sacked him so soon myself, but we were conceding goals left, right and centre and the way WBA lost their way in RDM's final days will have concerned Roman. But anyway, Robbie will have a successful career now his stock is up, because of us he has gone for being turned down by Birmingham City to linked with Valencia.
