  1. 1. Rafa Out?

Recommended Posts

I know he did, but there's a lot of talk about 'plastic fans' lately. In my mind, the ones that are the plastic fans are the ones holding up those banners. I haven't been to any of matches recently, but if I had been I would have kept my mouth shut because I care about how that shit affects the players.

That "shit" is fans, real fans, showing their passion about recent events. What would you prefer they do?, meekly accept the change? even if they bitterly disagree with it?

Alan Shearer on MOTD was sadly bang on. When asked about the reception the spanish wanker got before the Citeh game, he said "the fans are fickle, a couple of wins and they will take Rafa's side" and so it has proved. I wouldnt mind so much if the wins had come against the Yids or the Arse (like Di Matteo) did, but to turn over wins against Sunderland and Monterray? lol, ffs.

When it happened, I bitterly disagreed with it. Yes, the fans are fickle. There are fans out there who want 'Roman out'. After everything he has done for us. We are Chelsea fans after all, and we support the team. A lot of fans could do with thinking how all of those banners and booing affect the players. I'm sure some of the players miss Di Matteo too, but do you see or hear them 'voicing their opinion?' No. They just pay their thanks to Robbie and move on. And I have done the same.

I mean, really, what is the point to all of this booing? What good is going to come from it?

And hey, you can only beat the team that is put out in front of you. And this isn't all about winning (even though that is the most important thing). Some members on here were just making observations about the positive things that have been happening on the pitch recently. What's wrong with that?

I respect RDM, but there is a huge diffrence between Benitez and RDM in terms of management skills.

benitez is much better but until january reinforcements arrive, we are hopping on one leg. squad has major holes in CM and ST especially

It's amazing the thoughts of some on here. the Spanish cunt has (only just) beat a piss poor, off form, low in confidence Sunderland (the Mackems actually could have got a draw this game, we were flapping at times). Then we beat another decidedly average pub team in what looked like nothing more than a pre season friendly.

Staggering how shallow some people are. You don't think Robbie could have motivated the team the beat those two?, after he managed win's over Barca, Napoli and Bayern?, really?

Some people are easily fooled.

He couldn't motivate the team to beat a struggling AC Milan side, some washed up MLS team, Atletico, Juve (twice), Brighton, Newcastle (last season), Man City (Community shield and last season), PSG, Swansea, QPR, WBA, Man United, Liverpool (this season and last season in that horrible 4-0 game) so what difference does it make?

The only team in that list that is better than us is Man City and maybe possibly Juventus depending on what way you look at it even though I believe we should have gone to beat them in Italy and beat them at the Bridge. We would have won more games if it weren't for Robbie's naive tactics and failure to recognize that the 3 players behind the striker was costing the team defensively a bit sooner.

Lets be honest, when your on about managers beating Barca, Napoli, Bayern etc, does that mean coaches of lower clubs in La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga that have beat the teams deserve a top job? No. Neil Lennons Celtic beat Barca, does he deserve a top coaching job? No. Your argument makes no sense.

Also first couple of games Robbie won in the PL were against Wigan, Reading, Newcastle, Stoke and Norwich. All winnable by easy margins, especially considering the squad we have so saying that Rafa doesn't really deserve credit because we just beat Nordjaelland, Sunderland and Monterrey.. when he does because we've looked much better defensively and more tactically disciplined.

Also last season, we managed to drop from 4th place to 6th place under Robbie... just because we won the FA cup and CL it was still disgraceful for a club as big as us to finish outside the top 4.

Robbie was always walking a tightrope as any manager is at Chelsea, I always had a feeling Roman felt pressured a bit into appointing him. Imagine the uproar if he hadn't offered him the job? Still I accepted the decision to sack him because Robbie is still a novice in the terms of management at the highest level and now he the CL and FA cup on his CV so he could walk into a job basically anywhere. After the AVB disaster maybe sacking Robbie was the right thing to do, we can't always dwell on past achievements. Got to look ahead and obviously Robbie wasn't Romans man.

No. Just being frankly honest, we could have done better in the league and finished top 4... was still in our hands at one point!

Well I rather have moments like this than finishing in the Top 4

So let's agree to disagree - another side point because we finished in 6th, we were able to knockout spudz from the CL xD That is pure celery

Yeah I was more than happy with winning the CL and would take it ahead of top 4 - in fact that night in Munich was the happiest night of my life as a Chelsea fan - but Chelsea simply has to finish top 4 :P

But yeah lets agree to disagree

We all love moments like that... but we never would have had that moment had we not finished in the top four the season before.

I know, fuck the money all the time. Sick of people banging on about "Top 4", we won the Champions League and the F.A. Cup ffs. Ok so we had an average league season, we STILL won two major trophies. I hope we take the League and FA Cup seriously this season as well.

"Disgraceful to finish 6th"?? absolutely if we weren't still competing in the Champs League and F.A. Cup.....but we were. Which, for me, more than compensates.

You get more and more fans obsessed with finishing in the "Top 4", ah la Wenger, which has The Arse fans in uproar and rightly so. No trophies but Top 4 each season?, no thanks, I'd rather not go. Can you imagine recalling to your friends in 20 years time "Remember the 2014/15 season when we finished 3rd? top season", "or how about the 2018/19 season when we finished as high as 2nd?" wow, such fun.

Similar to that wise man of football Mick McCarthy who stated, when manager of Wolves "I hope we never finish high enough to qualify for Europe" dear god, what ambition :wank2:

It's easy to say 'fuck the money', but for our future ambitions we need a top four finish. We need the lure of Champions League football for whichever manager comes in.

And give the fans a break. Yes we were all angry and pissed off at what happened but we can't carry that into every game. It's exhausting and not actually that enjoyable to do. I'd much rather see my team winning games on the pitch and playing well.

We never could have won the CL and finished top-4. Had we been knocked out by Napoli, we'd have had a shot, but after that, we started resting all our key players. Mata, Lampard, Mikel, Cole, etc...barely played in the league for the last couple of months.

We had so many games close together which didnt exactly help and the FA Cup run to deal with at the same time..that and we were the only English side in it for most gave others an advantage..okay Man U and City were in Europa but seemd to deal with that a lot better

Once he's gone, I want Manuel Pellegrini to come in.

He's perfected the sort of 4-2-3-1 we want to play.

He's making this weak (on paper) Malaga team play incredible football. He made Villarreal overachieve greatly. He. Is. Perfect.
