Too much too soon. Probably deserves the reality check based on his attitude at Celtic alone. Almost as if he was above the SPL and that team, just look at him now.

Rodgers was a coach renowned for improving players too during his time in Scotland. For evidence,Β just look at Stuart Armstrong, Kristoffer Ajer, Kieran Tierney, James Forrest, Moussa Dembele, Ousmane Eduaord even Paddy Roberts who career has arguably nosediced since being at Celtic that first spell.. even at Liverpool the likes of Coutinho, Henderson, Sterling, Suarez (although it was obvious for me under Kenny that he would be a top top player)Β ... all improved a lot with him. Ndidi, Maddison, Pereira, Chillwell, Barnes etc at Leicester now again have improved and no doubt due to Rodgers influence.Β

Charlys 23 now but he has always been overrated. He may turn good yet but never to that level many thought he would be.Β

Id sell him with 10 or 15% sell on clause incase. If he goes again after a move for more money we would net some cash then.

(Video): Forgotten Chelsea winger finally back in ball training for Chelsea

https://www.chelsea-news.co/2020/08/video-forgotten-chelsea-winger-finally-back-ball-training-chelsea/

20200804_070806.jpg

A refreshing video surfaced yesterday, one that at one point we didn’t think we would see again.

Chelsea winger Charly Musonda was back in ball training again yesterday after another lengthy spell on the sidelines with a career threatening injury.

Musonda has been at Chelsea since 2012 and is still just 23-years old, and with age on his side, it looks like he is pushing hard for another comeback and another shot at making it as a professional footballer.

Β

He will still have a little way to go with his rehabilitation, but this is promising.

He posted the video on hisΒ Instagram account.

good lad, great to see him fit again. Maybe we can find a good loan for him and then sell him for a decent price but never was chelsea material. has 2 more years on his contract soon rather move him on sooner

Tbf, that's exactly what people were saying about boga a year or 2 back.Β

And as far as I remember, musonda was as talented as boga, if not more.l

I remember the opposite that Boga always was the better dribbler and quicker so if one of these two would make it it would be Boga. Anyway neither really had a fair chance and will never play much of role for us.

No Boga was more talented, but Musonda was less injury prone. Only when it comes to creativity, Musonda was better. Musonda's creativity was good but not good enough for an AM. Boga was the best dribbler we ever had in our academy.

Former Chelsea wunderkind Charly Musonda makes first professional start in over four years!

Comeback completed

https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2023/1/4/23538449/former-Chelsea-wunderkind-charly-musonda-makes-first-professional-start-in-over-four-years

Levante UD v Getafe CF - Copa Del Rey

Charly Musonda never gave up, even when doctors told the former Chelsea super prospect that playing again was anΒ β€œimpossible mountain to climb” after one of his countless knee injuries and setbacks.

Well, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, on a nice warm day in the city of Valencia on the Mediterranean coast of Spain β€” should’ve used a beach metaphor, Doc! β€” Musonda did in fact climb that mountain, and planted his proverbial flag on top of the center circle at the Estadi Ciutat de ValΓ¨ncia.

It was Musonda’s first start for Levante, whom he joined in the summer after leaving Chelsea for good. It was his first senior professional start in overΒ four years. It was the first start of the rest of his career. (Still just 26!)

He had made five appearances earlier in the season, all off the bench, before suffering yet another injury, but hopefully he’s now fully turned the corner. He played left wing for a little over an hour as Levante beat Getafe in the third round of the Copa del Rey, 3-2.

Sixty-eight minutes. Nearly sixty months in the making.

Musonda’s last proper start came in February 2018, for Celtic against St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premier League. He would start a few games for Chelsea’s U21 and U23 sides over the course of that calendar year as well, including once in the EFL Trophy, but if we’re counting only proper senior competitions, it’s been in fact nearly five years between starts.

Never give up!

Chelsea's 'next Eden Hazard' retires aged just 28 after being 'killed' by Blues exit

Former Chelsea wonderkid Charly Musonda left Stamford Bridge in 2022 and just three years down the line, has decided to hang up his boots in an emotional announcement

Ex-ChelseaΒ starlet Charly Musonda has decided to retire at just 28 three years after leaving West London. The Belgian winger joined the Blues from Anderlecht in 2012, moving through the Blues’ youth system until his eventual breakthrough.

He made his first-team debut for Chelsea in 2017 and went on to make seven senior appearances for the club. Big things were expected of Musonda and he was even tipped to be the successor to club icon and compatriotΒ Eden Hazard.

But things then went downhill for Musonda in West London after loan spells with Real Betis,Β CelticΒ and Vitesse Arnhem. He eventually left the club for nothing in 2022 at the end of his contract, with Levante and Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta then making moves for him.

But he left the latter last summer and has been without a club since. Musonda has now decided to hang up his boots despite having only 63 appearances under his belt.

Speaking on the Rising Ballers podcast, he said: "I've got a big announcement today. It's not easy but it's something I've been thinking about for a long time. After reflecting on my experiences and who I am, I've realised I want to live with purpose to inspire and motivate others."

Opening up on his time with Chelsea - and eventual exit - Musonda has revealed that his departure from the club was the catalyst behind his downturn in form. He added: "The exit killed me. It killed me mentally. It was the worst thing.

β€œI was obviously with the reserves at that time so the plan was to pick up with the reserves, get some training in and if there were a few games where I could fit in toward the back end of the season, that was the plan.

"Because I literally had just gotten better. I came back in December-January and was training with the reserves. Feeling amazing, happy to be backβ€”obviously it was a long way for me to be fully fit, but just being able to train was amazing.

"The first team was doing really well. It was COVID, so the buildings were split and you wouldn’t really see the first team. Then toward the back end of the season in the car park I ran intoΒ Thomas Tuchel, the manager.

"They were getting ready for the semi-final of theΒ Champions LeagueΒ and he just said, 'How are you feeling? How are things going?.

"It was my first time meeting him. He said, 'I’m looking forward to seeing you back and I said, 'Don’t worry, I’ll be back for pre-season.

"Because in my mind, it was always pre-season and I’d be back with the first team and we’d see from there. So I came back for pre-season and that’s where things got tricky. That was the end of my time at Chelsea."
