Wrong priorities

Mikel was one of the best players after christmas last season in my opinion! For once i felt like his calm control and laid back playing style was working and didntlook like he couldn't be assed. I also cant beleive Ramires is being dug at, he's easily our best midfielder and deserves a team built round him if anyone does!

I'm not being horrible here but why do English people love over rating their players ? John Terry is a washed up has been and he's been on the decline for years now, we should of taken the money from city when we had the chance. Gary Cahill will hopefully bench him this season !

Dude you are so wrong on soooo many levels.

This guy every game puts himself on the line for Chelsea, he's an absolute legend and in the Euros was arguably Englands best player.

So he doesn't have raw pace, but he has the best positioning knowledge, how many times has he cleared off the line.

Actually fuck it, you've really pissed me off - get a fucking grip it's JT, at least 2 more seasons in him!

Hope we keep JT fresh for key games & hopefully we start seeing Cahill & Luiz develop into a good CB pairing!

We're not going to win the title either way.

I don't care if Mikel-Lampard start all 38 games, they are just about good enough to sneak us into the top 4, which should be our goal. We're not Real Madrid, people need to seriously lower their expectations.

Mikel is still a titan when we need to take a defensive approach. As someone said up thread, Mourinho bought the likes of Eto'o and used him as a defensive winger in the CL. I won't have people writing him off (again) when its obvious he will be vital in the CL where we cannot afford to wank about like we're Brazil 1970.

Ah, yes. ENGLANDS BRAVE LION MR CHELSEA CAPTAIN LEADER LEGEND CAN DO NO WRONG, HE HAS 2, NO 52 IF HE WANTS, SEASONS LEFT IN HIM. The 'its JT he can do what he likes' argument makes as much sense as Tottenham fans' arguments last season when we requested to move the FA Cup tie. It consisted basically of "WE ARE TOTTENHAM SUPER TOTTENHAM FROM THE LANE FROM THE LANE WE ARE TOTTENHAM SUPER TOTTENHAM FROM THE LANE FROM THE LANE."

He has declined massively, and he will quickly turn into a liability a la Carragher in a year or so. We missed a huge trick by not getting shot of him for 40 million in 2010, that is an enormous sum for anyone, let alone a defender. 40 million pounds for a 29 year old centre back, we should have taken it then and there and lol'd all the way to the bank. We could have gotten Modric for that money. Or 4 great young centre backs. Anything we wanted really. That was before PSG turned up and made it harder to compete.

I agree with @Sheva, we said we were on the rebuilding mode and the UCL made that process a-hell-of-a-lot easier by 10 fold. but people are being picky and spilt. Last year all we heard: bosingwa, kalou, malouda, no striker (till drogba showed when it mattered) a real rw not studge on the wing, no skill, old. man all of that and we expect i to be fixed in one winfow?!

you dont go from 6th to first in one season, people say it but dont really mean it becuz they are hell bent when signings aren't what they want.

on the current squad i have never been fan of the 4231, but i dont think RDM will ever veer off that. if we play 433 then we will be fine, and a double pivot takes away what ramires can offer frommidfield. we need a 3 man midfiled, it has worked before and would definately work with the new found WINGERS in squad. thats what i've always believed but hopefully oscar can be that deep playmaker we want/need but if not we just have to be patient and wait till next window. Oscar signing is the key to our future troubles. wherever he plays his best the other position will be our need come next window.

Our priority is to bench Mikel. DM imo is the most important position in midfield. Mikel is a DM from 15 years ago, all he can do is fouls, win some balls and mark. I've been saying it for years: Mikel is awful. I dont know how this guy is still around and now as a starting XI.

We also have work to do in the defence, I dont know how a RB is not a priority. In this window we basically bought Oscar and Hazard, the other guys are squad players. Both are attacking players, but imo our defence is where we have a lot of work to do.

We're not a selling club, so that was never even an option. Man-City's bid for Terry was more politically charged than anything. What a statement that would have been, 'Mr Chelsea', heart & soul of the club, the captain, a homegrown club legend. And for him to be sold to Man-City, a domestic rival who aim to cast a shadow over the Roman era at Chelsea. We made a £40m bid for Modric anyway, so clearly a high profile sale wasn't necessary.

Lol. We're not Real Madrid? So? Don't know if you remember but we are THE BEST TEAM IN EUROPE and maybe soon in the whole World so I give fuck all about a team from a league similar to SPL from previous season.

I guess Mikel had a lucky game, right?

and mikel show in wigan game

what he doing for the whole match ??

nothing meaningfull, for god sake

- he is slow

- hardly to make meaningfull pass

yes, we need midfielder play some safety pass, sometimes

BUT in mikel, what all i saw is he just can't

he didnt have skill and quick thought

what he can to do with the ball, than just pass it to CB or simple sideway pass

and sometimes

his passing is as badly as meireles

if meireles pass is sloppy and too rush

mikel passing is, sometimes looks hesitate and wrong decision

- mikel isnt player who can pressing opponent

- he can't marking opposition player movement

- sometimes he looks not even can covering the space/area in midfield, becasue his mobility very lacking

he like just there to fill position

People can criticise Terry all they want and say he is in decline (which he is but he is still a very good defender) but we shouldn't forget that nobody, arguably in the history of the club, has put themself on the line week after week for the club like he has

Why are we not even looking at Sahin?

It's weird isn't it? Available for a one year loan yet 0 links. I'm sure Mourinho would like to do his former club a favour while Sahin would love playing with the likes of Mata, Hazard and Oscar. And if he were to regain his Dortmund form, he'd be a starter for sure.

After a year, we get (a hopefully improved) De Bruyne back.

So because he has a great history we should keep playing him despite being bad?

Alright then, lets call back Zola!

Exactly, the main priority this season is playing better, having a better balance and getting back into that top 4.

The fact Sahin would only be here for a year and won't be able to play against Madrid should be the least of our worries.
