capriccioso 2,545
The great man has retired. Appreciate his career here:
OneMoSalah 8,886
I remember we were linked with him at one point a few years back, I think we had Ashley still though so it was probably a false rumor. His goal vs France will be remembered all my life. What a goal.
Tomo 21,751
@, We were linked in 2004 when Jose took over, in hindsight it would not have been a bad idea considering Wayne Bridge hardly featured for 2 years after that and Del Horno was utter crap.Great fullback, him and Cafu were complete in every sense of the word. Santiago. 1,500
Greatest left-back i've ever witnessed, goes straight into my all star team.
TorontoChelsea 4,064
Didn't even know he was still playing. Fantastic and thrilling player. To me, after Maldini, the second best LB I've seen.

Milan 17,956
I would have never wanted to stand against his free-kick in the wall!Roberto Carlos is some name, indeed.
Duppy Conqueror 1,533
with the after his name in the title i thought the guy died or had cancer or something.great attacking LB. more of a wingback really. i`d say there`s been better LB`s but he`s been the best wingback. certainly in my lifetime.like Ryan said. that goal against France will always be remembered. HRiver 1,512
Another great footballer retires.. I personally prefer his second goal in that video to the famous free kick that he scored against France. Stunning goal.
robdog 2,084
Awesome player. IMHO he set the standard for all LB's today. Like many have said, dude was a wingback, but he could play d when needed.Roberto, sua presença será perdida de campo
Badboy 1,526
@Semia Roberto Carlos was actually very poor defensively but world class going forward. He's nowhere near the greatest left-back you have witnessed..... THERE IS A BETTER ONE PLAYING FOR THE TEAM YOU SUPPORT !
capriccioso 2,545
I personally prefer his second goal in that video to the famous free kick that he scored against France. Stunning goal. But the second goal was just a cross gone wrong, and the keeper was awful. It wasn't predetermined, planned or executed surgically anything like the French goal.Having said all that, it was a lot more spectacular than the free kick!
