Remember the pre-season before the 2010/2011? Won only one game and lost the rest. Many tried to rationalize it with what people are currently saying on here. During the season we have are worst run of results in winter and win nothing in the season.

Thought I might just let you know that.

Few thoughts now it's over:

Dominated the majority of the first half, but seriously paid for it by not converting the possession into chances. Also looked very susceptible to the counter attack. David Luiz couldn't hit a barn door with his passing tonight, it was awful which was frustrating because they were passes that he didn't need to try. Hazard and Marin looked like the players that could make something happen but the play was far too narrow (Ramires and Hazard guilty in the first half).

Probably not enough commitment, perhaps a little complacent, perhaps even a bit fatigued.

Never nice to lose to anyone, but not shameful by any means. The progression is there and I'm optimistic about our chances of getting 4th next year (which should be the goal in my view). Hope we can smash a few past Brighton and get everybody on a high again!

Also came 2nd. I'd take that.

Of course it does mate, and he did had a good game. But you have reckon Lukaku was pretty bad.

Lukaku was bad indeed, but so was Torres. But yes, Torres is ofcourse a much better striker than Lukaku. If you do want to maximize potential though this year, you need to go with Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku. Torres won't feel threatened and the other two would get a decent amount of minutes to develop.

I don't think buying a new (top) striker is the solution. It might hurt the club more in long term. Buying Oscar might have been a solution, because the delivery (so far) simply hasn't been up to scratch.

We don't have the right midfielders to play in double pivot in a 4-2-3-1 formation. The sooner Robbie realises that the better for us.As much as i hate to see Mata and Hazard play as wingers i believe that the best formation with the players we have at the moment is 4-3-3 with Mikel,Ramires and Oscar playing in the midfield

Lukaku played almost 4 full games.. almost 4 games. Torres should have come on before half time..

Torres wasn't fit for more than 30 minutes. Can't risk injuring your best striker two weeks before money time.
