It relies on your ability to either touch-type, or use a photographic memory to memorise words before typing them en masse, whereas in reality, if you were to sit and type whilst looking at the keyboard, knowing exactly what you intend to say, you can type a lot quicker. Typing is always a lot easier when writing coherently, because typing monkey cheese potato squash croquet lettuce banana diary yippe-kay-yay-motherfucker just doesn't seem to flow out at all.
