The Skipper 20,609
I mean Anelka had a good game for West Brom on Sunday and his thread wasn't even touched. Personally that has to do with Anelka not being one of my favourite players whilst Sturridge is, so naturally I'd keep more tabs on Sturridge than I would for Nico. Las7 951
Cahill making some nice comments ahead of England's games, I forgot those two played together at Bolton Cahill insists Sturridge, who should recover from a minor calf problem, can cope with the pressure of leading the line in Rooney’s absence, even though he has never started other than in friendlies for England before. The Chelsea defender told Standard Sport: “Daniel is ready to step in for Wayne for sure, with the form he is in. If you’re a centre-forward, confidence and goals are what helps you in your performances. At the moment he’s a guy with both those things in abundance and playing really well. He is the kind of player that the Moldova and Ukraine defenders will be worried about. He can strike fear into any defence.“Daniel can go past players as if they’re not there. Anyone who is in good form is going to take that confidence out on to the pitch. He’s flying at the minute so hopefully he can shake off this niggle and be ready to have a huge impact.”Cahill knows Sturridge well, having played with him when he was on loan at Bolton from Chelsea in 2011 and then after making the move south himself 20 months ago.Cahill believes Sturridge’s move to Liverpool has helped Sturridge improve, and claimed his former team-mate is playing the best football of his career at Anfield. He added: “Obviously he’s started the season tremendously well. Everyone knew what talent he had. Not potential, but what he could actually do. Daniel is flourishing in the role he’s playing at Liverpool now and confidence-wise, the manager [brendan Rodgers] has put him up top where he always wanted to be. He has repaid him with three fantastic performances and goals. Hopefully that can continue for him.“How has he improved since leaving Chelsea? It’s been a combination of his confidence and finishing in front of goal improving, but he’s always had that. He is also one of the sharpest players to go from a standing position past a player that I have seen in the League.“He is certainly difficult for defenders to mark and gave me a tough time in many training sessions at Chelsea, Bolton and England.”

Why are you comparing him to somebody that has no influence on what I was pointing out about Danny!!!!!!! Completely different players and that is why I didnt mention the player who has done fuck all. Again I will repeat myself, If Daniel Sturridgue has Lukakus attitude when he was here .. then he could have become the best striker in the Premiership. Now please do tell me how it has anything to do with Torres and his attitude and how many games he has played for us??????Jump off the attacking bandwagon and think about what you are writing before you post please! zolayes
Zone 290
It's a joy watching him score and be so confident. Tremendous talent and I'm glad he's got a place to show it instead of sulking on the bench. Always nice to see ex chelsea players do well, no matter the team they play for. When he scored and didn't celebrate against us was nice to see.
ja1 1,166
That's quite harsh. Rarely seen Torres not showing a good attitude. Despite all the stick he's getting from home and away fans he's been a tremendous professional. If it was Sturridge who had walked down the tunnel after being subbed against QPR, or made those comments after being left out the CL Final we'd never hear the end of it. Okay the CL Final comments are mentioned a lot actually..but Torres is certainly no model profressional. Capable of being very cynical and broodish when playing for us, then the next game he'll start trying again.I also compare Lukaku and Sturridge's attitudes. They are both ambitous and they know what is best for them. Hell, you can even see similarities in the way they have both stepped up to take the 5th penalty in important games, their reaction to it, and how Sturridge has learnt from it and Lukaku probably will learn. They can both be two of the best strikers in the PL. Sturridge's form in 2013 has been one of the best for forwards in the PL.Also the penalty thing, I'm talking about Sturridge's 5th for GB in the semi-final of the Olympics. didierforever, Amblève. and The Skipper

No matter what attitude Daniel had it would not have changed the fact that, we was send out on loan; made to play out on the wing and spend a full year watching Torres from the side lines. He could have had the attitude of Joey Barton it would not have made a difference, he did all he could to get one of our managers to have some faith and play him centrally but they all wasted their precious time in the club trying to excavate the Titanic. His attitude was not questioned at Bolton and it was not questioned at Liverpool, it was only questioned at CFC where he was not playing regularly and had to watch the biggest flop in English football play ahead of him. Not visiting this thread sounds like a sensible idea now Maybe you should go back to the Torres FC thread. You've been proven wrong on so many occasions and calling out fans when you've placed a big flop ahead of the Club is rich, very rich indeed. After all I've personally never said I'd punch one of our players in the face When I see him with the ball I feel like punching him in the face, knowing he'd most surely take a wasteful shot, destroying our attack. English Freak 456
Until Torres is sold and/or Lukaku is given a proper chance to play and develop into the striker we need, this thread will be very active.Sturridge's situation at Chelsea was unfortunate. Glad for his career that he moved to LFC, got the confidence of a manager who believes in youngsters and is finally scoring goals and enjoying football.Hopefully he keeps improving and becomes England's #1 centre-forward (not including Rooney) in the not to distant future. And why are you trying to make it out like I'm a Torres fanboy? Obviously I'm not happy with his contribution like most fans, but unlike them I choose not to rip him off at any given opportunity. You are a fanboy or you think I forgot your old Torres avatar, changing it and now saying you are unhappy with his contribution doesn't change the fact that you are one of the worse Torres FC posters on this forum. You wanted to punch a 23 year old Chelsea player in the face, in his second season at the club for taking too many shoots and "ruining" our attacks. That's the type of fanboy you are.Calling people keeping tabs on Sturridge Liverpool supporters and expecting high fives, you should expect a high five in the face if this is how you act in your regular life. What has Sturridge done in a Chelsea shirt except scoring a couple of goals in the early months of the 2011/12 season? Absolutely nothing and he was wasteful and pathetic to the point it was cringeworthy to watch him play. I'll never be sorry that we sold him as it was obvious he wasn't going to work out well for us.Yeah, I had a Torres avatar - sue me for trying to support our striker that everyone criticized. Is that any worse than being obsessed with our ex player (who now plays for a club most of us despise) and basically most of your pathetic posts give the message "We were such idiots to sell Sturridge". You seem more interested in him than the club you claim you support. Why blame me for calling you a liverpool fan then?

Please find me a 22 year old striker in an Elite Club(Real; Barca; United; Juve; Milan; Inter; Bayern; PSG) who is the top scorer in the League for them. Go back to supporting the biggest flop in English football who has held the club back for 2 and half years and made us loan/sell young talents like Sturridge and Lukaku who could be leading our attack for ther next decade. A flop who can't even score double digits in the League despite having some of the best assist makers in Europe Behind him. You seem to be the one that keeps mentioning Liverpool FC, I'm talking about a player who was not given a fare chance at CFC and was booed by idiots like you who want to punch Chelsea FC players in the face while defending the imposter. Oh, cry me a river. He's gone now and I am tired of morons like you who think they know how to handle a football club better than our management. You keep bringing on what I posted last year, which I did while I was annoyed of his poor performance and although I openly dislike Sturridge, I didn't really mean that. Calling forum members scousers/morons because they are impressed by a striker who has managed 13 goals and 5 assists in 17 matches in the EPL and has the best goals per minute ratio in the EPL since the start of 2013. While at CFC we lack that type of striker in that vain of form and a player who we could have easily kept if he was given more of a chance in his prefered position in his time at the club. I will not stand being called a Liverpool supporter by you or any other member of the Torres FC - posters who place the biggest flop in English football ahead of the club needs. It's not a matter of opinion, Sturridge has been one of the best strikers in the EPL for 2013, this cannot be debated - it's a matter of opinion whether he would be able to replicate this at CFC but that can also be said for any other striker whether it's Rooney/Falcao/Cavani/Zlatan/Eto'o etc
