OneMoSalah 8,886
That makes absolutley zero sense. If he is scoring for "an average Liverpool side", wouldnt he score more for us? Also, Liverpool arent that average, not the way they've started this season. They just beat Man u, and convincingly. And calling Danny average is just being blind and ignorant.Haha hardly. Sturridge was good for us for about until about December from when there was talk of AVB getting sacked and then up until he was sacked. I seen more or less every game he played in that season, several games hes was subpar in, as the whole team was. If he was that good he would of stood out like Mata managed to do for the whole season but he didn't.He would hardly score more for us, supposing the Liverpool side is built around him/Suarez when he returns and Coutinho, as in comparison to the Chelsea side when he was here built around Drogba, Lampard, and Mata. Sturridge is never going to be good enough for us to built a side around him. We have much better players to build our side around.
Sidzeret 2,257
Not good enough for us. Your transfer was the right decision for both parties.Still, you make a nice fantasy team player..

Las7 951
Haha hardly. Sturridge is never going to be good enough for us to built a side around him. We have much better players to build our side around. So he was good in the only time he was given a run in our side? In December he got injured and when he returned to fitness we already got a new manager who didn't rate him. Let's not even get into subpar matches - RvP was subpar against us and Liverpool, should we write him off?He stood out during the run in the team as one of our best attacking players just as much as Ramires and Mata.Considering he could hardly score for us how the hell do you explain that Sturridge was our top scorer in the League from open play and got into double figures of goals in the League from the right wing and despite not playing that much in the second half of the year. He doesn't need a side build around him, a flop like Torres needs a side build around him to score five goals in the League. When you have a good enough striker all he needs is a bit of service and he scores goals. The Skipper

The Skipper 20,609
Sturridge wasn't even 100% fit today, semi-injured (hamstring or thigh I think). Explains why he wasn't as dynamic as usual. It's funny that people are still calling Danny average. Liverpool's best league start in 19 years all thanks to three 1-0 wins courtesy of three Sturridge goals. He really isn't average. Anyone else saying he is is just blinded by hatred. Peace. and Stats

The_Flash 1,144
I still can't believe we gave Daniel away, I really liked him thought had great potential, shame Liverpool are reaping the benefits, can't stop scoring, gutted but good luck to him, that goal for Shankly anniversary Tomorrow was great for them to beat Utd, and I never want Liverpool to win, lol, but today for Bill, wonderful manager. Tomo 21,751
He has been on good form with Liverpool but remember it has been a mere 6 months (last season) then 3 games (this time), the best time to make a proper assesment on Danny is at the end of the season when he has completed a full season of uninterrupted playing time then we will know how big a mistake it was letting him go.Also he has gone up a level since Suarez suspension has been his best form, it will be interesting to see if he keeps this high level up when he has to share the limelight.Giroud has scored 3 in 3 for Arsenal, infact im more ruing the fact he choose Arsenal over us than we let Danny go, the Frenchman would be perfect for our system. Sturridge is a personal favourite of mine, one of my favourite players, so I don't mind discussing his performances in here at all. As I've said before, just stay away from the thread if you don't care about him. Las7, Fernando, The_Flash and 2 others

jonaaibosk 191
I don't get all this "Wish this thread would shut down" nonsense.Yes I may have mentioned that I wish we hadn't sold him, but I wouldn't say that's living in the past, it's just me voicing an opinion. I still like Daniel as a football player, but it seems that if a player leaves Chelsea we can no longer talk about him? Is that correct? What about people talking about Witsel or DDR? They don't play for Chelsea and are very unlikely to sign so what makes that any different? I dislike Liverpool as much as the next guy, but I can't help liking Daniel Sturridge and enjoy seeing him do well. I'd prefer it if he was wearing a Chelsea shirt, but that's just the unfortunate way of football. If it makes folk happy though, I'll stop posting about Daniel in this thread (as so many folk want it closed) and whenever I have a point to make about Daniel, I'll just hi-jack another thread The Skipper, Las7 and Stats

I still like Daniel as a football player, but it seems that if a player leaves Chelsea we can no longer talk about him? Is that correct? No that's not true but it seems every time he scores old wounds get opened up and very few actually discuss the goal he scored or the game he had, just the same "we should have given him more of a chance" (which we should have).I mean Anelka had a good game for West Brom on Sunday and his thread wasn't even touched. zolayes
The_Flash 1,144
I agree, but i also think Anelka was crazy to leave/get forced out. I thought he was great.
