CHOULO19 24,332
Danny isn't going anywhere. I'd bet my house on it (I don't have a house, though ). This is his season. He will be the one to take the main striker's role in the team after Torres fucks up again.

Term-X 7,891
"Nobody wants to sit on the bench so it's important for me this season to be playing regularly and show everybody what I'm capable of doing as a centre-forward. Hopefully this season I'll be playing up front."^ So he doesn't want to sit on the bench, yet.. he's stated he will/wants to 'exclusively' play as a centre forward, even with the knowledge that Torres will be the guaranteed main man next season. This can only end badly...

Kieran. 6,317
I don't even think Sturridge would be a huge success at CF...I think he'd be better as a SS.He still deserves his chance though. Bosnian Blue and Peace.
teignman 441
Danny certainly is an extremely talented player. However, he is seriously lacking in the decision-making department. Hopefully, he can maintain some patience with being a part time player while he develops this crucial part of his game. It would benefit not only him, but the club as well. Unfortunately, I do see a petulant streak in him, and he might want to move on. Even worse, the word around the campfire is that some of our most hated rivals, Spuds and the Scousers to be precise, are starting to circle. Term-X 7,891
Nobody wants to sit on the bench. He knows beyond any doubt that Torres will be the 'main man' next season, even when his form drops. So to be so stubborn in regards to his playing position is mind boggling.

I can see a Pizarro type signing on the horizon...

I guess Danny is betting to take the opportunity if Torres fails and establish himself as our main striker, which is more than likely imho. Naked Mole Rat 437
Sturridge to Spurs? What a preposterous and unlikely scenario at a time like this when we lack strikers and Levy's been a bitch to us.

Peace. 4,352
He definitely deserves to be given a fair shot at CF. As Kerian, I do not think he will be a great CF because he is a Second Striker, into my eyes. Nonetheless, he still deserves to be tried there. He scored 8 goals in 12 games for Bolton, while playing as a Second Striker, and his overall play was impressive. Last season, even if he had a dip in form in the last few months, he still had a good season while playing out of position on the wing : 11 goals in Premier League (and was one of our best players in the first part of the season). In four months at Blackburn, he scored more goal than what our other wonder striker did in 18 months at our club ! Furthermore, in the last 18 months, his overall play was more impressing than what our other striker's. Into my book, he should be rewarded with a significant amount of starts as a striker this season. He cannot be worse than the other option we have, can he ? capriccioso and CHOULO19

Sheva. 5,373
I just can't see him being Chelsea's main striker, if we don't get another striker this summer and Torres doesn't perform, you can be sure of Roman getting a big name striker in January. He didn't play as a second striker at Bolton, Elmander was behind him - Sturridge was leading the line.Didn't he play with Kevin Davies up front, with Elmander on the wings?
