The overreaction. Two games where he didn't set the world alight and suddenly he isn't a top player anymore. Come on a little dip in form is normal, he played very well since September and now he is a little bit tired like the rest of our team. Even on Redcafe or Bluemoon he is labelled as the best PL player this season, so some people need to get some perspective.

He gets a good rest of 10 days before we face Leicester and then I am sure he will be on fire again.

In my defence, I don't think it's overreaction. Just a case of dissatisfied with our better/best player not stepping up in the big games (that's not to say he hasn't done that previously) and Spurs away was a big one. It's also annoying to see Hazard not performing consistently, when we know he can and he's reached the age where he should be doing so. As mentioned, he can be absolutely brilliant in one game and then go completely quiet the next and to say he's been playing very well since September might be stretching it. We may have won 13 of our last 14 league games but there were games where he was brilliant and quiet during that run.

My post wasn´t aimed at you, as you have been level headed in this discussion.

Yes, we all know he isn´t consistent enough to be a top 3 player in the world as it stands now, but he still played a big part in our unbeaten run. What bothers me most about him isn´t his consistency(or lack of), but rather his poor finishing. I think he has got more lethal this season under Conte, but for a player of his calibre its still underwhelming.

Against Tottenham he had two great chances he failed to convert which could have changed the game. If he scored those two goals no one would have complained that he had an average game overall. I know it´s silly to compare him to Ronaldo and Messi, but those are good examples (Ronaldo in particular) of players who overshadow their bad games with a couple of goals, a trait that Hazard doesn´t have yet.

Can never be too sure. People get very sensitive about Hazard. :P

If you support Chelsea theres not one that would ever say get rid of him. But the ones who are calling him out on some things are confusing it with not being involved enough.

Yes he has had 3 or 4 games that hes been very quiet and as he is unfortunately one of our only true creative players then whewn he has a quiet game then the whole team suffers.

When the games happen where Eden gets marked out of the game or they make it so we cant get the ball to him then we need to come up with a plan to do so.

We never came up with a plan B or plan C against Spuds. Thats not Edens fault.

But when hes not getting corners across then thats down to him.

That's just an excuse really. Like I said, we aren't the greatest creative or technical side out there but we aren't the worst either. Hazard already showed he can play well without Fabregas in the XI. So there's no reason why he can't do it and there's no reason for him to play well in one game and then go completely quiet in the next.

I did not say that Hazard need fabregas to play well. I said that he need to be the sole creator in most game and that is asking too much from a player and he is not a robot there is bound to be up and down.

That is a valid point, but only till a certain extent IMO. It can't be used to justify of how he goes from being very good in one game to being very ineffective or quiet the next (e.g the Bournemouth and Stoke games last week). We aren't great on the technical side of things but we aren't the worst either. People criticized Gary Neville when he said but if Hazard truly wants to be one of the greats in football, then he needs to do it week in week out.

Funny thing is, Suarez was criticised for similar (pre 13/14). Hazard's 'bad' games he still offers a lot and that's what is the signs of a great player. Last season in January he was in the top seven for chances created, yeah that wasn't a typo, last season when he and the team were in the worst form of their lives also many times i have thought Hazard has had a bad game on the face of it then looked at the stats and it turned out he was actually the best player on the pitch in terms of key passes, key dribbles and chances created. Like i remember the days SWP and Lennon looked like they were having a good game because they skinned the full back a couple of times but in reality were having a shocker, it's the opposite with Hazard, he often looks like he is not playing well when actually, he is!!!!!

I love how people care more about Hazard's career than about future of our club.

Im sorry and i have never said this before, but what a weird and strange post, i swear we are the only set of fans in the world so relaxed about the prospect of losing our best players.

But Tomo, you know as well as anyone that stats don't tell the whole story. The stats may be high/good but if they don't make any difference on the pitch, then what's the point? It's just like a midfielder who has 90%+ pass completion, which is impressive on the surface, but when you look the deeper, you realize the reason for that is because he's mainly passed sideways and/or backwards. And if we really want to talk about last season, then I'm sure even you would admit that he was nowhere near his best or performed at the minimum level required, despite whatever stats you have found.

But the up and down seems to be happening a tad too often!

Ofcourse stats arent everything but either way, how many players would be that high up in any positive stat despite playing through injury/mental exhaustion and the whole team bar one being bad? I don't think anyone else in the prem would that is for certain. Of course he does have genuine average games and you could argue he does more than his talent should but he also has many games that dont look great in live time, but actually are, then of course he has his games were he is touched by God which are very much obvious.

As for the stat, it was posted on here about January time last year, I quoted it so will be on my history somewhere.

Neymar didnt score in 11 games for Barca. They dont want to sell him. Yet here, the jury is already out to get rid of Eden. I just wonder if those are same people who wanted to sell him in summer.

This is how football works. You dont play every single game on top. No player does it. Eden is top player, he aint world class. He has world class ball control, but otherways he is only very very good. He still has alot to prove in europe and sure he has talent for that.

That said, he is still by far our best player along Costa and its just ridiculous people already started talking shit.

Im just waiting for Costa to go 3 games goalless, then sure people will go from Costa is best in world to Costa is bang average. Funny world.
