Hulk is probably overwieght if you took his bmi or something but only due to sheer muscle... He will not end up like ronaldo... Ronaldo was never that hench.... I don't think he will have a problem with his weight long into when he is retired...

Hulk chubby? He's just ripped as is Micah Richards, or is he chubby aswell? Soon there's noone good enough for Chelsea, some too skinny (Ramires, Neymar, Oscar a few names brought up on this forum, on contrary take a look at Ashley Cole, he is doing superb and isn't one of the biggest guys around) and some are chubby (presumably Hulk). He is just ripped and genetically gifted when it comes to muscle mass and bulk.

You can measure how much fat someone has in their body. Hulk's BMI would probably show that he has less than 15%-10% fat, judging on how defined he is.

He isn't overweight at all, he's just got a lot of muscle. A bit too much maybe. I think if he toned down his muscles and cut up a little he'd probably be more explosive.

He's a really good athlete though.

I still think Hulk is overweight and will have problem with his weight in future like Ronaldo (Brazilian) had.

Generally to say s.o. is overweight by his BMI is utter BS, as individual anatomy can differ from standards. U can be overweight with muscles, heavy bones or fat. Hulk is simply muscular and naturally sturdy. Hulk has at most 10% body fat. he might be not ripped but his fat% is that of an athlete

What i am saying is just the old standard bmi, Height to weight will show him as overweight because muscle weighs more than fat, and he has a lot of muscle and isn't particularly tall at 5ft 11... BMI, is just a general measurement, i am not actually saying he is overwieght, he is a supreme athlete who definately has too much muscle for a footballer in todays sport where physicality gets penalised more than it does previously...

FOR EXAMPLE:

if you put hulks height and weight... Just average, they are probably not exact but just for example purposes

his bmi is 27.96 which is classed as overweight as anything over 25 is classed that way.... Again i am not saying he is but how flawed a standard old bmi test is which would class him as overweight which he is not...

Ah, fair enough if you use the old BMI procedure, but I think it's more relevant to use the new ones.

If we used the old BMI procedure on many athletes there would be a lot of "overweight" ones but in reality it isn't like that at all.

Yeah thats what i meant, obviously he would go through a much more precise procedure as you said with Fat %'s and Muscle %'s etc... But anyway, if Hulk comes then he will be a powerful force on that RW...

I think he is bit fatter/stronger than 2010 and I hope that wont affect his speed. Our terrible results in pre season were not problem to me, but the style we played. Yes its just pre season, but our team should have at least one direct player in team like Hulk, not just playmakers and passers...

hulk is just a dream come true.

for so many reasons. i understand if people are unimpressed or whatever with him in brazil but when you're aiming to win a league you need a hulk, he wins games on his own, he is consistent, works hard, has so much stamina, he is a huge threat and he is also a goal machine and can play 4 positions. all of this together, he would resolve our issues up front because if nothing works we stick him up top and he will score goals.

but as it is, it's a dream and porto are making it impossible to get him with the price tags.

Teodoro Fonseca, Hulk's agent: "Sometimes we want to the player to remain (at Porto), but conditions are not conducive at this moment. The club is more important than anything else, than any athlete, players pass, the club continues"

Hulk's transfer remains complicated due to agent fees and Club Atlético Rentistas, a 2nd division football club who owns rights.

The Rentistas hire Brazilian players and transfer them to European clubs at nearly twice the value that was paid originally.
