magic weeds 446
He wanted a year out, right? Don't see it happening.though he said if a team seduces him, he will be couching as early as next month,
VilBo 10
Guardiola would be Villas-Boas mk2. High defensive line, which would be exploited like it was this season. Don't want him here at all, Would rather have Di Matteo.

I wouldn't compare Guardiola to somebody like AVB, he deserves more respect than that.

Slam Dunk 1,442
Last week Eddie Newton said Chelsea haven't spoken to them since Champions League final....Because they're on holiday. Theres no rush. The board should be taking their time to assess what's best for the club.

I wouldn't compare Guardiola to somebody like AVB, he deserves more respect than that.I agree that Guardiola is superior to AVB, but the tactics he will implement will be near enough the same, high defensive line, constant pressing, short distribution by the goalkeeper, etc... I just think he will be a massive failure he he comes here. It will be interesting if he does join us, would love to see how he would adapt to premier league football. He would need to be much more tactically versitile than he was at Barca.
The Big Drog 1,110
What's he going to do if someone like Switzerland decide to park 2 banks of 4 in front of goal?Because we've never ever struggled against teams playing that way under any of our previous coaches..... KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
If he does come here I hope he doesn't bring that Disgraceful attitude he instilled into Barcelona. Diving, play-acting, crowding the referee, corruption etc. We don't want to be like UEFAlona

DDA 10,059
This is a tricky one because you have to recognize Pep's creation of one of the best teams to have ever graced football but at the same time you don't want him to try and bring a high line, one trick pony tactics to the Premiership ! hmmmm
erinblue 31
if RDM doesn't get it don't be at all surprised to see Laurent Blanc getting it.......seems to have turned France around and gotten the players together again.......heard his contract up at end of Euros....think he would be better suited to prem lge than Pep.... themightyblue 443
Why do we automatically assume he'd come and do a high line? Pep is much more intelligent than Avb and not as naive, he'd be the first to realise that wouldn't work here

You make the club suit your philosophy.

Pep is much more intelligent than Avb and not as naive, he'd be the first to realise that wouldn't work herePossibly because high-pressure possession football works only with combined pressure from the midfielders and the defenders. It wasn't AVB's high-line that lost us games, it was the failure to implement the whole package.
