BlueLyon 9,359
I don't care how well he kept Falcao at bay for Brazil. He barely does any good shit with US so what he does for Brazil is irrelevant.Well, RDM needs to tell him to stick back more. And yesterday, Thiago Silva was very good too.
The Skipper 20,609
Well, RDM needs to tell him to stick back more. And yesterday, Thiago Silva was very good too.Exactly this. RDM gives Luiz that freedom whilst Brazil don't. That's the major difference.
Land 331
Thiago Silva was unplayable yesterday. not sure if that is the reason Luiz was so good.
BlueJewel 56
Luiz was excellent early in the season when he paired with John Terry, he was more cautious and tended not try to dribble his way out of trouble from the defence, he'd rather hoof the ball. The two were the centreback pairing in most if not all of the matches Chelsea has kept a clean sheet in this season. It's not surprising that with Silva by his side there were able to keep Falcao quite for the whole match. I think the club should play only these two centre back combinations at a time if possible, Cahill and Ivanovic; Terry and Luiz. This shows that he CAN be a very good player for us....He had an expectacular performance, it was just flawless (no long balls nor attack adventures). sLOVEnian Blue 74
He did make 2 or 3 very good runs ... I remember one, where he dribbled past 3 Colombian players But I agree that he had a great game and kept both Falcao and Martinez in check. He has had a few bad games for Chelsea, but in September and October he played pretty solid IMO and I don't know what happened since than ... maybe he is just not comfortable playing with Cahill. manpe 10,861
I saw David in my dream tonight. He was sad. I tried to cheer him up, so I offered to buy him a snickers, he refused. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=decJZLFc8zQ&feature=related
BOSS 372
Thiago Silva is the best centreback in the world. Damn PSG bought two of the best players because Zlatan is the best striker in Europe and Silva is the best centreback in Europe.
TheCount 146
May sound stupid but,Anyone actually think he'd make a good striker lol?Can defend, good on the ball, good balance, good control, can finish? Big fella to good in the air.I mean we've seen weirder things in football, Bale moving from LB to centre forward, sturridge and torres are shite, and if were not going to try moses could stick him their till january got nothing to loose really. Tomo 21,751
It's simple, Luiz needs Terry next to him to perform his best. YouNameIt

And Cahill really isnt that much better than him.Our strongest combo has been Luiz+Terry, Tomo, Hysteria and Peace.
