Mouri_Matic 560
If he does go, these are the candidates to replace him imo that we could get:1. Diego Godin2. Fazio3. Mangala4. Sakho5. Chedjou6. That Greek CB from Schalker who I cba to search his name7. Howedes8. RamiAll are good CB, all quite young apart from Chedjou and none should cost more than £15-£20m max. Well maybe apart from Mangala who we would need to pay his release clause of £30m seeing it is Porto.
bushman 2,043
To let go is not as easy as it seems. We should wait for Jose to make his decision, soon.If Luiz insists to go, then Chelsea should get as much as possible, but I still would replace him with another good quality player. From the above list Mangala is the one. nadavTKL 1,787
And if we'll sell him, even for 40m, who could we get? Mangala's clause is 50m euros, you want that? no.Luiz cant be sold for any price and he wont. we're in August, its not the time to look for your first CB, especially when there isnt anyone available.Mou has a PC today? hope him or Luiz we'll put this one to bad early.. Look at Vertonghen, he is arguably as good as Luiz going forward and defend better too, save the flashy moments. He costs £10m and now he is probably worth at least £30m. Look at my list above to see.
The Rising Sun 711
We CAN NOT under any circumstances sell him.He is in the league of players that have an ability to become legends and leaders for the team they play in.He is all heart and has improved leaps and bounds and is consistently getting better and better.I just went over the Barca team and there is honestly no one from their team apart from Messi or Neymar that would add to our squad. Xavi and iniesta are getting old so they arent counted.I dont think we will sell, but if we do, it will be a sad sad day in the history of this Football club. Manuf 1,448
didn't we pay 24m for him? what a laughable offer, especially in August. there aren't many great CBs available on the market, so it would be hard to replace him. besides Terry-Luiz reminds me so much of his time with Riccy. The Rising Sun 711
Selling Luiz would be Like city selling Kompany and united selling Vidic, it will be a huge blow for us.

Defenders got to know each other and the game we are playing. The Rising Sun and John1611

WOW 28 years old Iniesta is old, shocking. Fabregas is just as good if not better than Mata, Sanchez is better than any of our wingers/attacking players bar Mata and Hazard. I think you are over dramatizing with the ending sentence.

I wouldn't sell Luiz easily though, It's late in pre-season and he's our best central defender. That said, an offer that would make him the highest paid defender in history would be impossible IMO, to turn down. That said, I don't see it happening. edetarod 2,155
it all depends wether Luiz wants to leave or not, which i think he doesthis "injury" thing is making me believe soi'll miss his screamers if he goes

Its all about opinion isnt it.... I dont rate pique as a great footballer and Terry offers more in terms of leadership, not only in the team but in an overall sense for the club.Iniesta, well i didnt do my research and thought he is 32 or something. But we have a great talent pool already and i want them too become the next iniestas of this world.Fabregas IMO is definitely not as good as Mata.Sanchez is good but then again, we dont need him.Just like we dont need to sell David Luiz.I have emotional connections for players like Luiz who play their hearts out, and his sale will be damaging towards my emotional connect with Chelsea. Cech's helmet 220
We won't miss Luiz one bit if he leaves on the pitch. we have the best defence in the world. Cahill and JT are solid as fack. I like Luiz but if he WANTS to leave then he can. if he DOESN'T and the CLUB decides to get rid of him, then we have a problem.Personally, I wouldn't sell Luiz for 40m pounds. who the heck are you going to buy? we don't need money and Luiz is one of the best defenders in the world. unless it's crazy money ( 60m + ) then I think that would be too good of an offer to reject. The Rising Sun 711
Because i care about what happens to him.And i hate barcelona now more than ever. And i genuinely feel that he can become on of the worlds top defenders at the rate he is progressing. He has too much to offer.
DanishBlue 426
If Luiz is faking an injury because he wants to go to Barca, he can surely just fuck off. I don't hope that's the case. Mouri_Matic and Bosnian Blue
The Rising Sun 711
Barcelona wants David Luiz because he offers so much. That itself is reason enough for us to keep him. nadavTKL
Zoro 151
Barcelona wants David Luiz because he offers so much. That itself is reason enough for us to keep him.No one is saying we dont want to keep him. The problem is when a player wants to leave and the club dont sell him, that player no longer plays with heart. Its best to take a decent price for him and look elsewhere. Sidzeret 2,257
David Luiz handing a transfer request???Does not seem like the guy, but to be fair I would be excited to play for Barcelona then Chelsea if I was a player like him. His style suits more better over there then Chelsea. Anyways, 40 million straight of with adds on to take it to 45 sounds like a good deal for me. the bid is around 35m..we have valued him at 40m+...Next bid is gonna be intersting
