Didn't I read a comparison of the United v City line-ups which showed the value of United's squad was about equal to City's?

Sorry but that's just half the story. The whole 25 man squad should be compared, you don't win titles with the same 11 men playing all the time.

I agree, but the spending of United's been under the radar quite a bit in the last few years. They'll actually fork out when it's necessary.

Class fans. Good on them for not being tribal.

Well respect to the creator of the Thread as well as the others who agree with him....but i see most of them are fukken cunts that want to win it before we do.

That mentality alone shows how low they are (or some of them).

Much respect to the ones that support a fellow English team in Europe.

United have spent 210,183,000 since 2006. City have spent 528,130,000 in the same period. We spent 334,000,000.

Interestingly, Barcelona have 'only' spent 229,500,000 in the same period, while Real Madrid spent an incredible 673,700,000.. Both of those figures are in Euro's so you should probably deduct about 50 million or so to get a fairer picture in pounds.

^ By definition, anti-tribalism is not being a supporter of a football club..

The title of this thread is invalid, hate is also a strong word. There are enough City fans that want us to lose (in general) to make the premise of this thread redundant. Man-City are out to jeopardise Cheslea FC’s own aims and objectives, they ‘directly’ effect us. Their success is our demise, so in that sense, a Chelsea fan being 'neutral' to City’s successes is illogical.

Anyone who had an inclination towards City on Monday, either subconsciously wants the Sheikh's to overtake Roman's success. Or doesn’t realise how much of a threat they are to us. United are a dying force with Ferguson on his last legs, one more for the pile would have made no difference, almost like the season never happened. The attitude that City are good for the league is that of a neutral, only a spectator feels that way. Plus, it’s actually the opposite!, they are.. and may well monopolise the league, this FFP came along at the worst possible time for us. Because City have found a way around it (we all know how), almost like the last fish to escape the net before ascension.

Time to settle this claim once and for all:

From the 51 posts in that thread:

24 supported Chelsea- 52.17391304347826%

15 supported Bayern- 32.60869565217391%

7 were neutral- 15.21739130434783%

And there were a few rambling posts that didn't discuss the match at all.

Even so, that's not unanimous enough for it to have earned an entire thread.

52% is a good number because you have to factor in some of them who think we are a direct threat to them. we wouldn't have that percentage of members hopin manc win the final over bayern (if it happened )would we?

They wouldn't feel that way in our position, and the tables were turned. Plus they're on a high from their first league win in 44 years.

Yeah, at the very least Chelsea were winning trophies. Money has helped Chelsea to three Premier League Titles but money helped ManCity more.

Top 4 > Bottom 4

The ironic thing is City spent even more money than us, and only won the title by goal difference. We created a team with a dynasty that has lasted nearly a decade (Lampard, Cech, Drogba, Terry, Essien, Cole, etc.). We were the best team in England between 2004 and 2008, and only bad luck in 06/07 and 07/08 cost us winning a quadruple in both seasons.

The RIP fergie sign was classless, especially because it was out of context, in reply to something Fergie said before a derby.. 3 years ago. Out of context (which it was) it just looks tacky, small minded & vulgar.

On a side note, did Tevez actually receive a winners medal?, if so.. that is pretty disgraceful, considering what happened in the season.
