Incredibly heartening to see all the people that came out to protest against discrimination and to challenge bigotry. A much needed dosage of hope for everyone.

Also, great job by the ACLU to get the stay so quickly. They're going to quite busy in the next four years by the looks of it, I hope that anyone who cares about such issues and is able to donates to them because are we going to need them!

They are awakening a beast it seems.

I don't agree with the ban but at least it's temporary.  It says:

"The Trump order includes a 90-day ban on travel to the United States by citizens of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen, as well as a 120-day suspension of the U.S. refugee program."

It would only make sense if after the end of this they have a detailed out plan of what to do. Because just banning travelers won't solve anything, especially when the ban is over.

What what what ?!? Trump is banning to travel to the U.S. people comming from Syria, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen ? I mean, only countries wherein which there is strong presence from Al-Qā'Idah, the Islamic State or other groups recognized as terrorists by the U.S. ? And he is banning citizens that have a lot of reasons to hold a deep gruge against the U.S., like having be bombed by the U.S. or the never old "Imperialist dogs" or even the sempiternel "ZIonist (allies) ? Hum no ?

Hum... I am really wondering why is he doing such a thing. I turn arguments in my head, but damn, there is only "racism" that come to my head. Well, twitter gurus are saying it is racism, so it must be racism, no ? And I mean, it is inconceivable to think that people coming from these countries could want to hurt the U.S., could they ? I mean, in France for instance we always have had good relationships with people form these countries and especially with the social groups active in these regions. I will always remember them — the other day they put the fire at a concert in the Bataclan, it was insane, great atmosphere ! And those two brothers coming back from Yemen, there were so nice people. They came back with a lot of gifts for their journalist friends, it was party time in the whole city of Paris !

No, frankly, I do not understand why Trump would take the decision to not allow these people coming from those countries to enter the U.S. ... It is not like terrorists or future terrorists could be among them, this is a ridiculous idea !!!

The difference is the muslims we get in America are educated and well integrated. France's terrible history in the Maghreb makes the former impossible for their populations.

If it was about terrorism we'd be banning Saudis, but that nation isnt on the list because $$$. The only other logical explanation is racism. Nobody in the Sudan has ever caused issue over here. In fact, I remember it was US who bombed a medicine factory over there when I was a kid in the 90's because Clinton was trying to get the media's attention away from his affair in the white house. The sudanese refugees we get are persecuted Christians no different than the Christians persecuted in Syria. The only reason they don't get a tweet mention from Trump is because they are dark as night, and the Syrian Christians we get can pass as White in our mixed nation.

Well the Palestinian pastor said something a long those lines.

He said he had no problem being detained when he went to Israel because he realized that many people from his side don't have the best intentions. And it was best to check them out thoroughly before letting them in.

I kinda agree with this, but like I said a 90 day ban won't do anything. You need to have a real long lasting plan. For now this is just to stop things from moving. But after the 90 days what next?

Well if she didnt agree with Sharia she wouldnt be much of a muslim would she?

Even on your example though this is a lady, despite her families patriarchy, has attended University. She kind of fits the educated/integrated label.

And that's the problem then. Why we want people that want to implement Sharia Law?

If they want Sharia Law, go to Iran, Saudia Arabia and the like.

They all sound like Muslim name......

The problem is not outside but inside what is being preach by their religion.

Trump said something about needing to keep an eye on them. Your list says it all.

So more then likely your list being proof, he will use it to monitor Mosque and what not......

American citizens have to have American sounding names?

I don't know how you can convince me the government isn't already monitoring anyone they can possibly monitor. Maybe it's just me being paranoid (though since I don't really care, I don't know if you'd call it paranoia) but I'm pretty firmly planted in the camp that the government, in its numerous agencies, are monitoring more of the US population than we're aware of. If they want to monitor me constantly checking out the same 5 sites, let them

So your okay with being monitored?

Having video cameras in mosque? And intervening if the message being preach is not in accordance with "American Values"?

To be honest I see this coming, weather I agree with it that's another story.

I don't think she wants to implement shariah. She just voiced her support for parts of it.

And that's going against the constitution.
Why do we want people like that?

Shouldn't we want people that love the country, support and defend the constitution?

The constitution defends her right to express her belief about not supporting interest(the shariah parts she spoke positive of).  I can accept citizens in the nation who have different viewpoints than mine. We are all American, and her speech doesnt take away any right from me.

Okay that's good. I hope you hold that same view for every side. And not become bias if you don't like their speech like say a zionist jew.....
