Arsenal were mercilessly mocked after their Champions League semi-final heartbreak on Wednesday night.

Fans, teams, companies and ex-players rubbed salt in the wounds of the Gunners, who were downed 2-1 (3-1 aggregate), by PSG on Wednesday night. 

Chelsea put out a post on X, reading: 'Back home tomorrow. Looking to reach a European final for the eighth time in our history.'

The mischievous message was quite clearly a dig at their London rivals, who were unable to reach the showpiece game against Inter Milan. 

It wasn't just the Blues revelling in Arsenal's misery. 

Ryanair waited until after the final whistle before replying to a pre-game post Arsenal's official account had put out. 

It simply read: 'Make it happen', with a picture of Declan Rice, arms outstretched in celebration. 

The Irish airline, who are known for their willingness to pull no punches on social media, responded cuttingly: 'Or not'. 

Paddy Power got in on the act, too. The betting company re-shared a former parody video in which the actor says: 'I'm a Nobel Prize winning data scientist, I've worked on some of the most complex problems imaginable but my latest task is the hardest yet: Finding one instance on Twitter, where Arsenal fans haven't found an excuse for losing a game.'

He goes on to list the excuses seen, such as 'we play too many games' and 'not enough games' and 'the ref supports the opposition'. 

Paddy Power quote tweeted the clip: 'Arsenal are out of the Champions League. It’s going to be another tough week for this fella.']

As if the online pile-on wasn't enough from companies taking a swipe at Mikel Arteta and Co, former players got in on the act. 

Ex-Man United defender Patrice Evra shared a bizarre video joking about the Gunners. 

He said: 'I feel sorry for Arsenal, people are being really hard on them, I love Arteta anyway. I think people have no problem with Arsenal players, people have a problem with their fans. 

'I even say I would not go into business with an Arsenal fan because they would promise you a lot of things... we talk about Netflix and season 21 is on its way. 

'I love Arsenal, you can't hate your babies, you know, it is impossible to hate your babies. 

'An example is, imagine if you have a good time with your wife or your girlfriend and the moment you are about to sow your seed, someone grabs you, it is really painful! 

'It is really painful because you want to put in the seed to have a Premier League baby or Champions League baby but it is always the same story. 

'I hope for you, United or Chelsea or Tottenham don't win a trophy this year, because that would be terrible!' 

Liverpool podcast 'The Anfield Wrap' shared a picture of Arsenal giving the Reds a guard of honour, with the message 'we go again Sunday', ahead of Arteta's side's visit to Anfield. 

The Gunners will have to absorb the jibes after coming up short on the big stage. 

They now face a long summer with no silverware to show for an impressive campaign that may be remembered more for excuses than glory.

There isn't a more unlikeable twat our there than Arteta, the man is deluded beyond compare.

The funny thing about this Arsenal side is the media have been blowing smoke up their arse about how they pushed Liverpool for the title, yet with 3 games to go it's over, they haven't secured CL football as yet and have lost the last PL game and dropped 5 points and been knocked out of the CL and another season without a trophy.

They want sympathy when they lose and are unbearable when they win, what a shite club they are

They play Liverpool and Newcastle in the PL, would be hilarious if for some reason they lost both games and City took 2nd spot

Barcelona really shouldn't have been in with a shout either. They conceded 24 goals, which ultimately proved to be their downfall.

I actually can't wait for this game tonight, both team have so much reason to win this. United I want and expect to win, but Spurs I mean this could be shit or bust for Ange.

Looking at their league position you cannot believe either have a shot at silverware, both fucking terrible, and we think we have problems.

Aside from Tottenham being a London team, why exactly do you want United to win?

I'm personally the opposite, as a win for Tottenham does nothing with Levy on board. A United triumph will open doors in the summer that Tottenham can only dream of.

Fair enough. I'm a similar age and have been around more Tottenham fans than I can remember for most of it. However, I just feel the small amount of joy it will bring to that lot will count for almost nothing when the season rolls around.

Badly want Spuds to win this. Really badly. 

For two main reasons. One, because the Mark Goldbridge meltdown content will last weeks and two, because Spuds getting UCL football is completely pointless and does them not much good. Not like they can go out and sign top players with the lure of being in it. They may even keep Ange if they win which is good for us.

United will always be able to attract good players due to their size and history but they desperately need this money for winning it and the money they’ll get for being in the Champions League next season and can shop in a totally different bracket this summer. I think they can make legitimate pushes for the likes of Gyokeres/Osimhen/Nico Williams etc if they have UCL + the money it brings rather than the mediocre targets they’re currently linked with.

Long story short, United winning tonight makes our life harder next season and beyond. Spuds winning doesn’t really affect us at all.
