I think you are jealous because I can speak 4 languages :halo:

Now you are just projecting...besides I think you are jealous at my superior English sonnet writing skills.

Dion the dinosaur is a fool

A shame he is rather thick

It doesn't help that people believe he is a tool

And I think he has no dick

The last I checked he couldn't write a sonnet

I heard Dion loves to cross dress

He tries to hide his shame under a bonnet

The lad is just a mess

He tries to be top gun like me

There can only be one I fear

Alas he has the personality of a flea

And for this I shed a single tear

On Facebook he has a stupid facebook pic

And I'll reiterate that he has no dick

I think your sonnet is too direct. It lacks emotion and metaphor, but that's just me, write it as you please.

One more thing: Italian rhyming scheme > Shakespearean rhyming scheme :getin:

Besides, I wouldn't be so thrilled about being a top gun if I were you:

Just so you know, I don't wanna ride your tail

At least I can write a sonnet... :blue scalf:

I haven't even seen Top Gun and I hate Tarantino.

Metaphors and similies are stupid.

The matter is not whether you can write it or not, but how good you can do it.

Also, I don't know how hating Tarantino and not having seen Top Gun are arguments in your favor (most people would assume it's the opposite), but ok. HAHAHAHAHA.

Well so far, mine is less clichéd than yours... :D

1. Tarantino is a twat and an awful director.

2. Why would I waste two hours watching a homoerotic film about Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer?

As Orwell said in his five rules

1 "Never use a metaphor, simile, or other figure of speech which you are used to seeing in print."

2 "Never use a long word where a short one will do."

3 "If it is possible to cut a word out, always cut it out."

4 "Never use the passive where you can use the active."

5 "Never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word, or a jargon word if you can think of an everyday English equivalent."

6 "Break any of these rules sooner than saying anything outright barbarous."

Sure yours is less clichéd than mine, for nothing you say is true -_-

1. Tarantino is an awful director.

not-sure-if-sarcastic-or-just-plain-stup

2. Because you are a Top Gun! It suits you ;)

Couldn't care less for what Orwell says or thinks, poetry is about feelings, not rules.

P.S.: Really have to get back to my studies :chai:

P.S. 2: You really are jealous about it - you started an argument just because I said I spoke 4 languages :D

It's a sincere insult, concisely stated. No awful metaphors or similes to be found. :D

Than why are you following the rules of the structure of sonnets? Seems hypocritical my Brazzer friend. Besides he says nothing about not having emotion in your writing, in fact he states the polar opposite. He advises writers to be concise and honest, how can you be honest when you are dicking around with long words, and tacky metaphors? Maybe it's different in your three other languages, but I can tell you that with English being honest, sincere and concise is the aim. This is the reason that writers like Orwell, Hemingway and Salinger are revered higher than those like Joyce, Faulkner and Melville. Joyce for instance is arguably the greatest author in English history. But do people like reading his books? No, they don't. They are awful things to read, far too complex and and obtuse to even attempt. I tried to read Ulysses by Joyce and barely made it past the first few pages.

Tarantino is so derivative and arrogant that I can't even begin to express.

Of course I'm jealous about it.
