The Roberto Di Matteo Thread

How he hasn't got the job yet is beyond me, this board is strict yes, but stupidly strict. It's like if someone is going to give you a payment, but pays there full interest and gives you back a whopping 2 million pounds, but you arrived 4 seconds after the deadline. AND BAM!, you're going to jail mate!.

"I think Di Matteo will stay for one year," an ESPN source said. "It might not be ideal, but I am sure he would take it.

"I am sure he wants the job and will go for it, believing he can prove he is worth keeping. There is sure to be a decision sooner rather than later."

To be honest, I'd take Di Matteo over Mourinho. He hasn't proven himself a genius, what he has done, however, is motivate the players perhaps even better than Jose could. He's also adept at recognising our strengths and playing to them. Jose, while he will always be loved by us, is not Chelsea through and through unlike Di Matteo, either.

Mourinho won't be coming back this summer, so we can rule him out. :P

Perhaps the only person I would take ahead of RDM right now is Hiddink. Otherwise, please give the former the job, for maybe 2 seasons at least with the option of extending it further!

His 1 year contract extension deal depends upon Pep,if the Barcelona legend feels he can experience another hectic adventure then he will manage us next season or else start his Blues career after his sabbatical..It'd be interesting to know what may happen If RDM stays and wins us the Premier league or Champions League, surely Roman will stick with the man.At the moment Roman wants a significant change in performance, although there has been a remarkable change in results over the past few months, the performance of our team from a neutral point hasn't been great.I think we should give RDM the chance to restructure our style but the change will surely take some time and that will come in the form of lost points or matches which may in the end, result to the sacking of RDM.Can't expect him to win trophies and change our style in just 12 months,it's too much to ask and is unfair.

Roman sacked 8 managers because they didn't win the Champions League and now he plans to part ways with the only manager who did.Roman, you sir are an enigma.

Apprantly hes front runner for the villa job. In the Mirror so who knows but longer this goes on bound to consider other options

Don't see why RDM would want to go to Villa anyway. Randy Lerner seems to reluctant to spend much and the club is in big mess right now. And after managing us in recent months including winning the FA Cup and Champions League, I'm sure he will be looking for a bigger job elsewhere IF Roman doesn't want him.

So many ex and current players have said about how he should get the job.ITV seemed a bit forcefall of the case last week in their interviews.Think every player they went to just asked 'will he get the job'...they dont know and if they did doubt be able to say it on tv!

Just a case of see what happens. But doesnt help is if nothing is being said and they're left completly in the dark.

Getting Guardiola will be one of the most embarrasing and idiotic moments in modern Chelsea history. Sure the guy did a good job at Barcelona but then again even a monkey would. Barca is a self-playing piano. And what other achievements does Guardiola have? What has he proven? Plus Guardiola has no relationship whatsoever with the players, and frankly I dont even think they like him. Di Matteo fking defied all odds, reunited the team, brought passion back and did what no other coach managed to do before....with a team everyone critized, especially the senior players. And Di Matteo clearly has huge passion for Chelsea aswell.

Not giving Di Matteo at least a 1 year contract is a "FUCKING DISGRACE"!

RDM won the trophy Roman wanted and the FA Cup and in a short amount of time and yet may not get the job.Doesnt exactly send out the best message if and when we need to find a new Manger.

Exactly!Changed things around. And yeah may not work out with him but it might not work out with Guardiola. At least he knows the club and players having spent time with them!Knows what can be done etc.
