It's absolute true but then you have people bashing Emenalo who bought world-class player for 9m€. Mourinho already tried to repress Musonda in the summer and he could have very well leave if Mou was still here. Yes, we have Boga and Musonda, 2 players of similar potential to KdB but we have to stop doing stupid thing again.

And this is the important point.

They don't realize it was Mourinho fault and that the board has been doing a great job till he screw it up.

They can now go back to doing the great job they was doing of getting top young players. We just need a manager that will gamble on them. Let's hope Conte is not like the individual....

how is matic similar? KDB was killing it in Germany and during our first game. Matic was a nothing player when we traded him.

The same case on player we 'dumped' and then flourish. It is not automatically means the manager who did it was always a fool.

He played great for us in general, best player in preseason and MOTM first PL game. Then Mou had seen enough and benched him for half a year. That is the only true story.

I know everybody here is completely up in Mou's ass. But he screwed it big time with KDB and was 200% wrong about him.

No one knows why the ginger maestro left. But to say it was Mourinhos sole decision is stupid. There are six people including Buck and Emanalo along with the owner and manager that have a casting vote on ins and outs of playing staff. I would also tend to believe a belgian journo over someone with random letters and numbers on a forum, as a moniker, and its a bit disingenuous to disrespect and say everyone here is up mourinhos arse. I also for some reason cant take anyone seriously who calls him Mou ?.

It happens. It will happen again. Get over it.

The club need to make sure it doesn't happen again so soon with the current crop of talented young players. Now that would be a major cockup.

Great piece of scouting btw. He was quite low-profile on the global scale and wasn't coveted by all the major clubs. Turned out to be quite a gem.

I've said this from day one. His skill set is unique and that's what makes him special in his own way. He's not incredibly refined and comfortable in tight spaces like a Silva or Ozil. Neither is he blessed with the immense speed and ball control of a Kaka. And he's not a football genius like a Riquelme or Totti. Instead he excels in a broad range of attributes. Two-footed, crossing, shooting, through passes, set-piece delivery, high volume of goals and assists. He also gets in the box (!) and he's got a wonderful engine to keep going and hurt teams on the break. The true definition of a modern midfielder. All-round rather than a specialist.

But maybe the most important quality he possesses is his sense of timing. He knows exactly when to release a pass, send in a cross/cut-back and take a shot. It's simply amazing.

In a counter-attacking team, I wouldn't want any other player in attacking midfield.

But with Guardiola taking over, it will be interesting to see how he uses him. Guardiola never even uses a #10. He might use him like Muller currently, turning him into a forward. We'll see.

The ironic thing is if he stayed here, the minute he hit a rut a lot of you moaning about his sale would be "not bothered" if we decided to sell him and want him dropped for the squad option (whoever the attacking midfield version of Begovic is at the he time).

Well his stats over seasons show that he seems to manage a goal or an assist at least every other game. But you are right, there are people who have knee-jerk reactions to when a player is off form. Costa, Fabregas etc.

Not aimed at you Tomo, but he finally silenced people who said he is not a big game player.

That is so foolish, his big games were always even better than the normal games.

Just curious, IF we sell Oscar to another big club and then he managed to 'prove it wrong'  somehow the following season, will there be a same reaction like in here? Or 'double standard' for that case?

If Fabio Borini scores in back to back games the knifes will be getting sharpened ready to come out if he nets in the third.

So much wasted energy in this thread though :P
Just appreciate the player in his current team if you lot love him so much, he won't come back, it's like shedding tears over spilt milk.
I for one am not bothered by his stats, wouldn't want him in my team regardless just as i wouldn't want ronaldo or Ibrahimovic in his prime or lukaku or any other prick footballer with a shit attitude that wants everything to go his way.
Man City is the perfect place for him.

Nahh, it's not the same. Oscar has been given more chances than he deserved. Four full seasons is an eternity and he's been crap since the first month of 2015.

If he does succeed somewhere else immediately, Chelsea/English football isn't the right environment for him. I think he's better off in the Serie A. Or the Bundesliga. I hope Wolfsburg are hot for Chelsea property again.

I suspect some might even prepared a 'draft post' for it. When any ex-Chelsea score, quick, copy paste and post it in his thread.

No because he got time here.

What get most people is that you didn't give him much of a chance to play.

I mean for crying out loud Mourinho was able to give so many chances to Ivanovic to regain his form but doesn't give much to a younger payer after one mistake.

KdB started his last Premier League game in August 2013, then he had 4 idle months before being sold in January.

It's completely diffrent ! We can't even say if KdB couldn't "cut it" in Chelsea as he hadn't got opportunities to do so.

I don't know what attitude KdB showed but people please remember that Mourinho couldn't stop praising Kevin during pre-season !

I very much doubt it will happen, but clauses can always be inserted. Follow the Thorgan example in the unlikely scenario.

Nah, I know that Fabio Borini is average. Look, even Fabio Di Santo had purple patch recently (scored 13 in the league last season).

But KdB is a gem, bought for 9m€, since he started playing for Belgium he was their best player immediately, at the age of 21. And everyone knew his potential, even Mourinho said so many nice things during pre-season.

That's why it's so hard in this particular case as it could have been avoided ! But I get over it because we have Boga, Musonda who are gems, ridiculous talents.
