BlueLion. 21,491
excellent post.probably cfc's only regret was not to put the sell on clause.I'd totally agree with that. Many clubs are reluctant (naturally) to accept those terms, however, and buy-back clauses are equally as unlikely in situations like this. Nevertheless, I think we missed an opportunity with regards to selling-on fees with one or two players but I stand by my original point: how on earth were we to know he'd develop to such an extent over an 18-month period? mikeholiday, The Mak and Fulham Broadway

His transfer fee is shocking. But his development not so much. He was always a very talented player. Good technique, good pace, strong crosser, impressive engine and fitness, two-footed, scores goals and good shot from distance, creates chances and provides assists. These are all qualities he's always possessed, and that's a very impressive skillset. He's just become better and better in these areas as he's matured. He's about a level away from world-class status. This is where we'd hope Oscar would've been in terms of development after three years. But his road is apparently a bit longer, most likely inferior in quality. laura90, Blue-in-me-Veins and Amblève.

I don't think his development is surprising at all. Dude was always a monster of a player. Thats why many were so excited when he finally joined us. Tbh his is more a case of having the platform to showcase his skills than actually developing into a good player. He was always top class as a playmaker. laura90
Duppy Conqueror 1,537
You blamed us signing Willian earlier on as why he quit,do you see him or Oscar demanding a transfer now because we signed Pedro or when we signed Cuadrado. At big clubs pro footballers expect competition. It's all hearsay what was said behind closed doors, you did not witness it the same as i didn't.but Mourinho has let many players leave Chelsea in both his spells as manager. Not one of them cry to the press like the boy does. Jose has not felt the need to speak about another player in the terms he has about the boy.I'm off to bed now anyway.too late to stay up talking about players unproven at big clubs who failed at chelsea.even if they are those who expected special treatment. Oscar will never make the most assists in a top league. His price tag will never become as high as De Bruyne's. Drop Hazard a few weeks and see what happens. Oscar-De Bruyne comparison is silly. If you take another look at what i posted you will see i made no comparison of Oscar to De Bruyne in their playing styles whatsoever.nor his assists, his price tag...your reply to something i never said was really the "silly" part. Of course players like De Bruyne react differently than players like Willian or Oscar.Everyone knows that we made a mistake by selling him. Popular Post! ParNolio7 285 Posted August 27, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted August 27, 2015 It is utter bullshit to say we could "impossibly have known that De Bruyne would develop into such a big player in only 18 monhts after leaving Chelsea."De Bruyne has been absolutely brilliant everywhere he played, Genk, Werder Bremen, Belgium, Wolfsburg. His impressive season at Wolfsburg was no more than the normal continuation of his natural development. It was only interrupted for a couple of months - what a shame!! - at Chelsea. So stop acting like we got rid of a shit player who by some amazing turn of events started developping into a wonder player. Miracles don't exist.I remember Belgian CFC fans like myself being called stupid Belgian fanboys every time we complained about KDB not playing. But we knew how good he was, and how extraordinary he'd become. That's why it was so frustrating for us to see how he got completely ignored by Mourinho.
