Fulham Broadway 17,350
The youth policy is primarily propaganda, a window dressing and veneer -to give the impression of 'growth, academy, nurturing' etc. Yes one or two might make it, be loaned out, hell one or two might even get a first team game or two. But the majority are a second string -which do make a profit however when farmed and sold on. An expensive megastore product. But it really is time to stop this romantic nonsense about 'why dont da yoof get a chance ? '.The reality is football isnt how it was 20-30 years ago when first team players usually came within a small geographical radius of the club. It is now a cut throat business -what investment bank or global franchise hires apprentices in its local area to be chief executives ?No, they head hunt the best globally, to return the maximum profit
EskWeston 696
At the ages they are at it means nothing, we could still not see them even for the U18's. Not sure it was the best thing for these kids for Luton to make this public, players move around clubs so much at this age.

Idiot 71
we will never see them in the EPL just like the other 1000 youth Players. So ist useless to scout and buy them. I'd prefer to raise the quality of scouting for Players who are 18+

Amblève. 4,995
That means these kids will have to move to London with their family? If so, why do the parents agree on such a stupid move?! The kids could have played for Luton till they're 15 or so, then see if they can make it to the professionals and move on to another club, if they are good enough. Also Luton is a complete and utter dump (Sorry to any members that live there), they would most likely have to move down to Cobham area which is far nicer. CHOULO19 24,332
Chelsea fans are just a ray of sunshine aren't we?! Come on, cheer up people, we need a bit more optimism here.
Amblève. 4,995
Still, the kids will have to move away from all their friends and kids their age have to be living in an incact surroundings, containing a true home. Don't know if moving to another city is that good for them... even it isn't far away from their old home town.
francozola 2,040
These kinds of deals happen all the time. Every club does them. Not sure why this is such "big" news
Idiot 71
Not "big" news but disgusting behaviour which is absolutly needless because of our youth-system. If they progress well they will be loaned out to 6 clubs in 5 countrys and will be sold in the end back to Luton

Term-X 7,891
The Daily Mail went with the following headline, 'Chelsea sign Luton brothers - aged 12 and 13 - as AVB looks to the future'^ "as AVB", Lmao.. like AVB had anything to do with this.
