Paul Pogba

Honestly i think its just the setup/coach that have him off. He is suited as a b2b stud, potentially(keyword) one of the best in the world. He is above average in every facet of the game and needs to have a proper system to show off his skills. 4231 might be the absolute worst system for him and its what Jose insists on playing rather stubbornly. Is he worth a world record fee? I cant answer that, However i would take him in a heartbeat cause Conte would know how to properly use him. We can only dream of the damage he would do with a proper coach and a player like Kante next to him.

The kid is still just 23, I would have absolutely loved to have him. Mourinho and the toxic team environment in Manchester are failing him.

It's not that simple. A 2 man midfield in a 343 is very different to a 2 man midfield in let's say a 4231.

Maybe from an offensive point of view. But from the defensive side of things, both midfielders still have to work to protect the defence - covering the space, putting pressure on the ball, make sure there's no space between the lines, getting back to cover if possession is lost etc.

Would love him to do to pogba what he did to mikel lol

I'm getting so much joy out of their capitulation. I know it's early days but Man United are a disaster waiting to happen. MKH not getting games, Pogba looking lost in midfield, mistreatment of Schweinsteiger, Shaw unable to get on the pitch, always starting Fellaini in midfield, Martial's drop in form, etc.

Just so glad it's not us this season. As much as I am grateful for what Mou did for us, I am glad he's gone.

Woeful again yesterday but all you get from United fans is "He will be worth it" and "He just needs time to settle"

Not even worth half of that 90M, good player but no more than that.

Wouldn't say he was woeful. In all honestly United are coming along offensively, the likes of Zlatan, Mkhitryian and Pogba are starting to click and when top players with their ability start to click they will cause teams issues. He will never play as good as he did for Juventus because Mourinho won't allow him that freedom unfortunately. Definitely not worth the money they paid but he's not been awful, United are a final ball off looking alright going forward or so the impression I got watching them against Everton was that, although they have defensive problems.

Not disagreeing with your overall point about Pogba. However, a 3-4-3 system while defending is much more like a 5-something (usually 3-2 or 4-1), so a player like Pogba wouldnt necessarily have to work so hard since he would have back up protection (so to speak).

Nowadays, formations and positions are very fluid so its hard to analyse and things usually depend on a case to case basis.

Even then, I don't think you can really afford 'passenger' in the team unless he's contributing massively in attack. Otherwise, Fabregas would have played a lot more than he has (granted his injury hasn't helped but yeah) under Conte.
