Joe allen kept a composed head during the intire game and linked his side with ease. Showed the technique and calmness that surprised me and makes me believe that he could be a top class player!

Well Allen has been called the "poor man's Iniesta" on more than a few occasions. Would be awesome if Chelsea actually looked at good young domestic talents...rather than spending fortunes on foreign talent.

Seriously? Joe Allen? He's a good player and I like him, but we really should not be aiming for these level of players. That's what Liverpool did and look how shit their team is. The only reason they're doing ok this season is because Dalglish manages to get them fired up for the big games and hence they've gotten positive results in most of them.

The prices are getting higher and with the fifa fairplay rules kicking in we should start scouting and buying players and making them into worldclass players. And i could see us making joe allen into a top player and he could be our "modric"..

I would rather us look at other leagues and scout these types of players (I don't mean kids, but rather the 20-25 year olds who are established in their leagues). English players are simply not good enough. Not on the same level as Spanish, Germans, Italians etc. And they cost much more than European players because they are so over-rated.
