Didn't want to derail the discussion in the Super Frank thread so I put it here

Just came across of this rare complete collection of his West ham goals. You already can see the scoring instinct and match intelligence at 18-21 y.o. Having seen most of his 211 Chelsea goals a dozen times, this really caught my eye how mature he already was taken all those excellent finishes. a few absolute crackers as well, worth watching till the end

Lets hope he is as good as rookie manager as he was as rookie player.

Di Canio set him up with some great crosses. I so hope we can get that level from our right side this year.

Frank Lampard to trim his Chelsea squad by sending highly-rated defensive duo out on loan

https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/23/frank-lampard-trim-chelsea-squad-sending-highly-rated-defensive-duo-loan-10447755/

Frank Lampard will allow England U21 defenders Fikayo Tomori and Jake Clarke-Salter to leave Chelsea on loan for the upcoming season after assessing his defensive options.

It looks as though Lampard has settled on having David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma as his four specialist central defenders next season. Everton had expressed an interest in re-signing Zouma following a successful loan spell at Goodison Park last season but Lampard is keen to retain the Frenchman’s services. With Cesar Azpilicueta also able to deputise in central defence, neither Tomori nor Clarke-Salter will be required next season, despite both being well thought of at Stamford Bridge.

So if this is true, I assume Drinkwater stays to make up part of the 8 HG slots needed then. Barkley, Drinkwater, Ruben, CHO, Andreas, Mount, James and Tammy? Don't think I've missed anyone thats in the current squad just now that is realistically going to be there.

You don't need to have 8 HG players, you just can't have more than 17 non HG.

I thought the rule was you needed 8 HG players to balance out the 17 non HG. Either HG as in English/Welsh or oversea players who have spent 3 years at English/Welsh academies prior to turning 21.

No you can not name a single HG player if you felt fit but you would have to fill your squad with U21s outside of the 17 foreign player's.

If having 8 HG players was a rule we'd have fallen foul numerous times already, I can't be bothered to check but I think we've very rarely had 8 registered HG players (not including U21s as you can register as many of them as you like HG or not) since the rule was implemented, if ever. Think at one point we literally only had Terry, Cahill and Cesc.

We had 9 last season before January. Suppose with the u21s we will manage anyway thought it had to be 8 registered and then the u21s were just there and counted as squad members without being registered. Then Cesc, Lucas and Moses left I suppose and there spaces were never actually filled in the squad so thats probably how that worked.

Rob Green, Gary Cahill, Andreas Christensen, Danny Drinkwater, Cesc Fabregas, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley, Victor Moses and Lucas Piazon.

Still think it will keep Drinkwater around this season.

It's not compulsory to fill all the 17 non-HG and 8 HG slots. James, CHO and Mount will be in the U21 list, not HG as you mentioned above.

As it stands, our squad is pretty bloated:

Non-Homegrown (17)
Kepa
Caballero
Rudiger
Luiz
Alonso
Zappacosta
Azpi
Emerson
Zouma
Jorginho
Kante
Kovacic
Bakayoko
Pedro
Willian
Giroud
Batshuayi

Homegrown (5)
Christensen
Drinkwater
Barkley
Loftus-Cheek
Abraham

U21* (5)
Cumming
James
Hudson-Odoi
Pulisic
Mount

* For the 2019/20 season, U21 players will consist of players born on or after 1 January 1998.

Not a bad idea but I would have wanted one of the 2 to stay back and have the transition done for David Luiz ... not sure how many games would David Luiz play (I assume bulk of it since Rudiger is out for the start) but it would have been good if we could keep one back and try to integrate into the first team.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to let ELEVEN stars go this summer

CHELSEA boss Frank Lampard has made transfer decisions over ELEVEN players at the club and is willing to let them go this summer.

https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/793809/Chelsea-transfer-latest-news-Frank-Lampard

Chelsea are embarking on a different route under Roman Abramovich after being hit with a transfer ban.

It means that they will not be able to register new players until next summer, while also losing Eden Hazard and Maurizio Sarri this year.

Lampard has come in and has been keen to emphasise the importance of youth, with the likes of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Reece James to be added to the first-team squad.

They will join fellow academy graduates in Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Andreas Christensen and Callum Hudson-Odoi - the latter set to pen a new five-year contract.

But not everyone will be given a chance under the new regime, with Lampard prepared to let 11 players leave this summer - report Goal.

They include Kenneth Omeruo, Baba Rahman, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Matt Miazga, Jake Clarke-Salter, Izzy Brown, Lucas Piazon, Dujon Sterling, Lewis Baker, Fikayo Tomori and Trevoh Chalobah.

However, only the former duo will be allowed to leave permanently.

Celta Vigo and Leganes are fighting it out for Omeruo while Marseille are interested in taking Rahman, who is entering the last year of his contract at the Blues.

What do you guys think about Lamps so far?

Say all the right thing and bring excitement from the fans which will really help everyone this upcoming.

Football wise, hard to judge because we haven't played any team with at least PL quality so far. Our pressing look fantastic though

Its awesome......but if we can get the results then its just quality. He will need time, he knows the League and what is required, so he has no place to hide. But im sure we will be ok eventhough we really lack in some areas, the Club has handicaped the team so you cant expect a title fight. If we get top 4 then its an instant success.

Tbf I am not sure why Ole or Frank would be much higher giving their limited experience in the PL and ESPN have ranked it as many would expect. Ole has more but other than the bounce before he got the United job and that spell at Cardiff still very much unproven. Although same is said for Norwich, Villa  Sheffield managers. Rodgers being higher up based off two really good seasons (one with Swansea one with Liverpool) as well is odd, good spell at Celtic, think the job he did there is underrated due to the standard although when you look at European games, he had a poor European record.
