CHOULO19 24,332
Did you ever consider that given Lampard's age and years left as a pro player that adidas wants to get a head start and fill the void quickly with another player? Who knows? They might get the next big marketable superstar.Maybe, but sounds unlikely to me. If I want to sell Chelsea merchandise I's slap Lampard's pic on everything regardless. Who knows? They might get the next big marketable superstar.but wouldn't they include Lampard along with the younger players then? They included Terry. i mean, in India, you get mostly only Lampard, Drogba jerseys. I don't know about statistics but more often than not, when I see a Chelsea jersey, it has Lampard on the back. Think the club might have told adidas to leave him out
Popular Post! Henrique 9,133 Posted April 6, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted April 6, 2013 I watched the UCL final agains last night, and now we can pay attention for some details and have a different perspective, Lampard played that match as a really nice leader and captain, and if this is his last season, we should at least win one trophy, because he should end his Chelsea career as a captain in a trophy match. blu35_army, Rambo, Heisenberg and 4 others
MADEZ 9
I think lampard should leave in a mutual situation not like the club sending him away,by the way Jose is coming so whats the big deal, lamps you are staying man
BlueLion. 21,491
Perfect time for Lampard to leave would be after breaking the goalscoring record, which I think he will at least equal (don't know why, but I can envisage him being stuck on 202 and then leaving...), á la Drogba's last kick being a "trophy-winning" one. Jase 43,479
Just to mention, Lampard wasn't even in the home kit(for this season) launch last year but was seen for the away kit's launch. AND Kalou participated in the home kit's launch then...only to leave in the summer. Also, Ballack and Joe Cole took part in the 2010/11 home kit launch 3 years ago and they left the club in the summer. dave30 728
in terms of Frank Lampard the player and not Frank Lampard the Chelsea icon, I don't know if he's doing enough on the pitch to earn a new contract. He's our top league goal scorer. lucio 5,418
i don't. for me we always seem to put in our poor performances when he plays in the pivot (man city , southampton). he just dosen't meet the criteria for having a role in this system unless he goes back to CAM. What position does he play in the team? Double pivot? He simply isn't good enough in that position and we're likely to buy a new player for that position in the summer anyway. How many games in the last two months has he actually looked like Frank Lampard? One? Two maybe? I love the guy but his contribution this season hasn't been good enough and he'd be the first to admit that. lucio and Peace.

Rmpr 8,977
Still can bring a lot of impact as a sub...He can, but there are some problems with it...1. He will need a massive pay cut to be economic viable, something like 100k/week less than what he is making.2. He has no place in a 4231, his main position doesnt really exists there. However, if Mourinho returns to his 433, he becomes useful again (not really the word I was looking for).3. How important is his leadership, really? I mean, it hasnt changed our results much this season...4. Lampard is expensive and puts pressure on managers to play him due to his immensive and beautiful history. Is that the best for Chelsea going forward? Isnt it better to buy someone like Modric/Moutinho and let Frank follow with his life?Overall, I honestly hope he stays, but we got to view the club's point of view as well. Peace. and Heisenberg
Magic Lamps 11,692
It all depends on whether Mou comes here or not. I am convinced Mourinho will try everything to ensure Lamps stays and he surely will find a way to fit in Lamps again. Surely there are some reasons against keeping him but he has made clear he will take massive cutbacks which makes the board's decision that his departure is not to be negotiated ridiculous. He is our best scorer in the league despite having missed a big part of the season. Many of his goal have been of great importance and quality. Us using a 4-2-3-1 is only a result of a dysbalance within our squad, so we should not use the formation as argument. Also one can't say his eadership did not have any impact. U can't always quantify that in results. Leaders instill believe and fighting spirit into the team, they help younger players in difficult moments. That does not always reflect in results. We can't look into the players minds to assess whether it has helped them or not. But I can imagine a lot of situations where that might have played a role. Vs. Everton, Wigan, Bucharest (home) after their equalizer, Arsenal, Wigan, The media always make that story up with Lampard pressurizing or even intrigueing against managers. He is a professional, he won't let personal sentiments conflict with the team's interest. he worked under so many managers and all of them except one got along with him brillantly. Do you really think Lamps had anything to do with the misfortune of any manager except AVB? Shit happens, but i think Lamps is the last to single out as an example of "player power" or other shit. Above all he saved AVBs ass multiple times with last minute goals, so he can not be made responsible.
