Rowan_Osborn 58
Yeah but the fact he always hit it with so much power and pace along with accuracy, the keeper has never really got any chance to save it. His penalty record speaks for itself.Proved it once again tonight. Muzchap
Magic Lamps 11,692
Lamps making it really difficult for England to replace him. 2 Motm awards, 3 goals in 5 days. Best England player atm.
warnie_666 1,081
Gerrard suffers from complex when Lampard is in the team. He always underperforms in Lampard's presence but is great when Lampard isnt around. Shows who is the boss!! KonohasOrangeFlash

Magic Lamps 11,692
Yes, but he's 34 years old so he's no good.1. Lamps is a slow starter, anyway he has scored 5 goals and got 2 MOTM awards, so u tell me he is no good?2. no idea what age has to do with quality. age is just anumber3. @klopfzeichen: Whats bad about being able to take penalties? There are few reliable pen takers in world football. Why would a player who can not do anything more be regular starter for the European Champions and the 3rd best international team in the world? CHOULO19 24,332
@Magic Lamps, I'm pretty sure Toronto was being sarcastic Our players really have some haters in the British public; there was a poll on Goal.com today and about 6% voted Lampard as the most disappointing player in the England team yesterday. Really? When Cleverly played like the shit player that he is? And when Gerard had yet another shocking performance, was responsible for Ukraine's goal and got sent off stupidly?! Lampard was one of our better players last season. His scoring, passing, and even defending were vital to us going anywhere. The idea that 3 mediocre games (in a season where we've started 3-0-0) means Lampard is useless is a ridiculous overreaction. Lampard is still a vital part of this club. TorontoChelsea 4,064
Where's the sarcasm font on the computers when you need them It's hard to use sarcastic exaggeration when people are even more exaggerated than your sarcasm and are actually being serious. Rubber bullets 1,183
I often hear the term 'XYZ is the heartbeat of that team'. Well, if Lamps is the heartbeat of Chelsea, then the patient needs to get a scan, and quickly. RamiCFC9 and KonohasOrangeFlash
Spike 12,049
We all know that Super Lamps isn't the player he was. Age and a few injuries have really caught up to him and we can't forget that he is 34. Lamps has always been at attacking midfielder, or even sometimes a secondary striker and those positions are a far cry away from playing as a centre midfielder. He has been getting foward ever since day one of his Chelsea career and that was well over a decade ago so it's unfair to expect him to adapt to entirely different role with ease, old dogs don't learn new trick all that well. Not only does he have to adapt to new expectations and duties but he has to break many of the habbits that made him so fantastic for so many years. When was the last time you tried breaking a habbit? Remember how difficult it was? Often these habbits are just auto-pilot actions that you do without realising because it's ingrained into your ethos. I fully believe his performances would be at a much higher standard if he was playing in a more attacking role; the stamina and physicality may be gone but all of the technique remains. You can criticise him all you want, but never forget that while he may fail at times you can never fault his effort. 100% all the time everytime, the results aren't always there but the passion is. CHOULO19 24,332
He should not have played yesterday imo. He put in two tiring performance for England last week, you can't expect him at his age to play 3 matches in 10 days.
