Erling Haaland's 75M release clause can actually be triggered in the summer of 2021, and not 2022 as previously reported. @orioldomenech #rmalive

don't know how reliable this,,but 75M is a fair price to get Most Potential #9 in the future. oh,,maybe the club must add another 10M for Raiolcunt fee....<_<

Been watching my hometown team (Gremio) play libertadores and there is a 22-year old player catching the eyes of everybody. Brazil legend tostao wrote an article praising him and asking Tite to not only call him up, but also make him the center of the team. (Matheus Henrique and Pepe are also good young players from Gremio).

https://www.transfermarkt.us/jean-pyerre/profil/spieler/351903

He's been a little too injury-prone for my taste and missed last game against santos-Gremio tied 1x1 at home which makes them now the underdog (they have the deeper squad but santos were the better side). The return leg will be mid next week in Santos (1h from sao paulo). Jean Pyerre is expected to play.

Characteristics wise, he reminds me of Pogba in the way he moves, but he's way more creative, more like KDB now. Scores quite a bit from afar too - really good with freekicks. Bunch of youtube videos if you are interested.

Anyway... one to keep an eye on.

City wanting Hålaand is being reported in The Times. Tbh, I always felt this was his most likely destination:

Manchester City are poised to enter the race for Erling Haaland, the prolific Borussia Dortmund striker.

Fresh from signing a new two-year contract, Pep Guardiola wants to reinvigorate his squad next season and Haaland is one of the players that City are considering signing.

Haaland, 20, has attracted the interest of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid and Manchester United. City are ready to make a move for the forward if he decides to leave Dortmund next season.

The Norway international is contracted until the summer of 2024. He has a £68.7 million release clause in his deal, but that only becomes active at the end of the 2021-22 season. Dortmund are likely to want more than that this summer if he pushes for a move.

Haaland has been in excellent form this season, scoring 23 goals in 19 appearances for club and country. He is an agile, lethal finisher, and has a connection to City: his father, Alf-Inge, played 38 times for them from 2000 to 2003.

The forward position is an area where City are looking to strengthen at the end of the season.

Sergio Agüero, City’s all-time top scorer, is out of contract next summer. The 32-year-old Argentinian, who is set to start today’s Manchester derby at Old Trafford on the bench, has played only five times for City this season owing to knee and hamstring injuries.

A young Haaland wears City colours

City have been linked with a move for Lionel Messi but it remains unclear whether the six-times Ballon d’Or winner is willing to leave Barcelona on a free transfer this summer.

One factor that could complicate a potential move for Haaland is that he is represented by Mino Raiola, the controversial super-agent.

Raiola branded Guardiola, the City manager, “an absolute zero, a coward, a dog” in 2018 when talking about the Catalan’s management of his client Zlatan Ibrahimovic during his time at Barcelona.

Guardiola sold Ibrahimovic to AC Milan in 2011 after becoming tired of his penchant for fast cars and his celebrity lifestyle.

Guardiola responded to Raiola’s attack on him in 2018 by revealing that the agent had offered him the chance to sign Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United.

United tried to pursue Haaland when he left RB Salzburg in December 2019, but ended up backing out of the race to sign him because Raiola was insistent that a release clause must be inserted into the player’s contract.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer retains an interest in Haaland, but the fact that he is represented by Raiola means a move to Old Trafford is highly unlikely.

United are not exactly on good terms with Raiola and the club are likely to prioritise another bid for Jadon Sancho, the Dortmund winger, next summer instead.

This week Tuttosport published an interview with Raiola in which he stated that Pogba’s time at United was “over”. Raiola also chastised Solskjaer for comparing Haaland to Romelu Lukaku, a former client of his, who left Old Trafford for Inter Milan in the summer of 2019.

“Haaland is like Ibrahimovic when he was 20,” Raiola said. “Solskjaer is a good guy but he was wrong when he said that Erling is like Lukaku.

“It would be better if Solskjaer thought about finding a way to make Pogba play like a champion, instead of talking about Haaland

Imagine City taking all Messi, Alaba, Ramos for free next summer.

building for the future lol.

I hope they do, it may get them the CL title (or more likely another close miss) but Ramos and Messi have shown they do not really give a fk about daily business in the leagues any more. If City really want to throw away their brilliant long-term plan for short term glory and instead of buying elite young talents that fit Guardiola's philosphy go for over-the-hill superstars they are welcome.

we can help fund that golden oldies spend by offering to buy the seemingly now out-of-favour (no idea why) Laporte off them

he is WC when healthy, best uncapped player on the planet IMHO, and big (1.91m) a left-footer, and pretty pacey, plus a very decent passer

doubt they would ever sell him until he is in his 30's (he turns 27 right after the season ends)

cant hurt to ask, lolol

hell toss in Jorginho as makeweight, Pep (for some reason) still covets him

Sancho has been shit in multiple games this season

he was horrid in the 1 5 Stuttgart pounding, Reus was even worse, they are so fucked without Håland

ZERO chance he is, atm, worth the £135m or so Dortmund want

I would say £75m max

only 3 players on the planet I would pay over £100m for are Mbappe and Håland and (I can hear the screams now, lol) maybe Kane (but he turns 28 in the coming summer, so it isn't like you are going to more than 4 or 5 absolute prime years max out of him, and to prise him away would take Coutinho/Hazard money (or more), which is just crazy)

maybe Davies (100m on the nose MAX), but we have Ben so fuck that

De Bruyne turns 30yo in 6 months, so nope (although he is by far the best AMF at this moment)

Mane and Salah turn 30 during (Mane) and right after(Salah) next season, so hard pass on dropping 100m or more

I am off the boil a wee bit on Sterling (defo would not turn him down for the squad at a decent price, but a decent price will never be had for him)

Neymar turns 30 in a little over a year, so nope

TA-A is too poor defensively and Reece is on pace to potentially be a better all-around RB, we shall know 3 years from now or so if this is true

VVD could be 30yo the next time he plays a completive match, and we have no idea how he will recover, as he is huge man who will put insane strain on that knee

Felix looks to be blowing up a bit, but zero shot I would drop £100+ million on him atm (maybe down the road) and I am not sure if his game is that tailor made for the EPL, as he is so slight of figure and can be bullied now

Zero chance I would drop £100m on Oblak (or any keeper) that is just crazy, especially as Oblak is 29 in a year, and for £110m we damn well better get 7 plus years out of him, and how good is he going to be when he is 34, 35, 36yo (he is pretty short  (less than an inch taller than Kepa) so not like can rely on size when his relaxes and leaping slow down) Samir Handanovic is 36 and starting to show real age, and 34yo's Manuel Neuer and Kasper Schmeichel are the only other great keepers over 33yo. A Buffon is a true freak.

No way is Gimenez or Marquinhos worth 100m

Maybe De Ligt is down the road, but not atm.

That is it for any players who would be remotely said to be candidates for £100m transfers.

Ansu Fati may, may get there, but far too soon to say, same for Youssoufa Moukoko.
