Chelsea to battle Tottenham Hotspur for Linfield teen

Chelsea have reportedly attempted to hijack Tottenham Hotspur's move for highly-rated Linfield teenager Charlie Allen.

The Northern Irish attacking midfielder, 15, is thought to have had a trial with Spurs, with talks over a deal set to commence shortly.

However, the Blues are keen to sneak in ahead of their London rivals and have offered Allen a trial with them at Cobham instead, according to Football Insider.

Additionally, Manchester City are showing interest in the teenager, complicating Spurs' attempts to snap him up.

Allen turns 16 next month and Linfield have accepted that they cannot hang onto their young talent, but will want to be fairly compensated.

Chelsea have reportedly made their first attempts to hijack Tottenham’s attempts of signing highly-rated midfielder Charlie Allen. 

According to Football Insider, the Blues have asked the teenager’s club, Linfield, if they can take the midfielder on trial at Cobham. 

Allen, 15, has already undergone a trial with Spurs and even discussed terms ahead of a move, so Chelsea’s interest comes as a major surprise. 

The attacking midfielder, who is regarded as one of Northern Ireland’s brightest prospects, has also spent time with Premier League champions Manchester City over a possible switch. 

Linfield are resigned to losing their star asset, who made history by becoming the club’s youngest ever first-team debutant at the end of last season. 

Allen turns 16 in November, and with Chelsea having a proud tradition of turning their youngsters into first-team stars, as shown by Frank Lampard so far this season, the Northern Irishman could be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge if offered terms.

Chelsea keen on summer Ruslan Malinovskyi transfer after Claude Makelele's scouting report

Malinovskyi, 26, performances for Atalanta have been earning him rave reviews and he has impressed Blues legend Claude Makelele.

Makelele has been scouting for his former team-mate and he gave Malinovskyi a glowing report after watching him in international action last week.

Now the club will make further checks over the next few months and could make a move when their current two-window transfer ban ends in the summer.

Malinovskyi only moved to Italy in the summer after spending the last three-and-a-half years playing in Belgium for Genk after starting his career with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Which teams train the most professional footballers? As every year, the CIES Football Observatory has established the rankings of the best training clubs for players active in the big-5, as well as for footballers in 31 European top divisions. Real Madrid and Partizan Belgrade head the tables. The top 60s are available in issue number 271 of the Weekly Post.

For big-5 league players, Real Madrid (39 footballers trained, +3 compared to last year) outranks Barcelona (34, same number) and Olympique Lyonnais (30, -5). At the level of the 31 top divisions, Partizan Belgrade (75 players trained, +6 with respect to last year) outranks AFC Ajax (72, -5) and Sporting Clube Portugal (63, +5). The top 50s rankings for 2018 are available here.

Following UEFA definition, training clubs are teams where footballers played for at least three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21. The percentage of minutes played by club-trained footballers in all of the teams from the 31 competitions studied is available in the CIES Football Observatory Demographic Atlas. In addition, more exclusive data is regularly published through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

After watching Eden Hazard leave for pastures new, and then being hit by the effects of a transfer ban, Chelsea may not have been entirely looking forward to the current season.

The Daily Mail claim Chelsea scouts watched Sergej Milinkovic-Savic during Lazio’s Europa League clash with Celtic on Thursday night. The report claims the Stamford Bridge side are considering making a move for the Serbia international at the end of the season.

After hearing the reports surrounding the 24-year-old, Chelsea fans flooded to Twitter to share their thoughts about their rumoured transfer target.

Many supporters of the west London side insisted they didn’t need the 6 foot 3 man at all, and urged the club to keep showing faith in players like Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

LIVERPOOL EYE UP JANUARY MOVE FOR DARAMY – A SIMILAR PLAYER TO MANE

Liverpool are eyeing up a January move for Mohamed Daramy, according to 90min.

The Reds will face competition from Celtic, however, with the Scottish Premiership giants also keen on acquiring his signature.

Daramy is a hugely exciting prospect, already breaking into FC Copenhagen’s first-team this season, despite being just 17 years of age.

The striker became the Danish club’s youngest goalscorer in history last year.

Daramy has been likened in style to Sadio Mane, meaning Liverpool could see him as a long-term understudy to the Senegalese superstar.

Coutinho leads the table for most expensive players on loan

Issue number 273 of Weekly Post presents the top 50 transfer values for players currently on loan in big-5 league teams. At the head of the table is Philippe Coutinho. However, the price for the Brazilian as estimated by the CIES Football Observatory algorithm (€96.5M) is lower than the option to buy negotiated between Bayern and Barcelona (€120M) .

Four other players on loan have an estimated value greater than €50M: Dani Ceballos, Martin Ödegaard, Harry Wilson and Mauro Icardi. While there is in principle no option to buy for the three former players, Paris St-Germain can sign Mauro Icardi for €70M. This is currently a relatively high fee, but it could be no more the case if the Argentinean goes on playing and scoring as he managed to do in October.

With regard to Stefano Sensi and Duván Zapata, the levels of their options to buy are already significantly lower than the estimated values. Inter and Atalanta will probably not hesitate to exercise them. Jamie Jackson of The Guardian writes that Manchester United are pining for Jadon Sancho, and could move to exploit the winger’s unhappiness at Borussia Dortmund. The German club fined the young Englishman and dropped him last month for being late to training. This has caused a rift between he and manager Lucien Favre, which could ultimately lead to his departure. However, there remains interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid in the 19-year-old talent.

Haaland A Wanted Man

According to Rob Dawson for ESPN, Manchester United are set to enquire about the availability of striker Erling Haaland in January. The 19-year-old forward has become one of football’s hottest prospects this year after scoring 26 goals in just 18 games; this tally includes seven in four Champions League fixtures. The Red Devils face stiff competition from European giants Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Yet, they may be prepared to loan the Norwegian striker back to current club Red Bull Salzburg. This could be a deciding factor in his next move.
