I waited for a download to be available and watched it "live". Had to avoid twitter & pretty much the rest of the internet til then to avoid being spoiled.

I was definitely supporting the Giants. LOVE Eli! Don't really like the Patriots that much apart from Brady & Welker. Amazing game. Delighted that NY won!

So pissed off. I still amazed on how Brand and Hernandez couldnt catch the last throws from Brady. The Welker drop, Jesus...also Gronk wasnt at his 100% .

I don't quite understand the sport. Do people watch it live and sit throught the tedious planning and phases or do they just watch replays?

You know after they play a phase (Is that right?) and all the players huddle and discuss tactics during the game. The game halts and resumes.

Ah okay. It's called a play not a phase. The huddle usually only lasts about 5-10 seconds. There is actually a 40 second time limit which starts (I believe) right after the previous play is over. The quarterback has to get the next play snapped before the 40 seconds are up or there will be a penalty. Unless, of course, one of the teams take a 30 second time out. Sometimes the quarterback decides to run a no-huddle which means that the players just line up in the formation after the previous play is over instead of forming a huddle and the quarterback will just shout the tactics to his players. This can be done to save time, to tire the opponent's defense and also to prevent the defense from making substitutions (which can sometimes result in penalties on the opposing team which will help the attacking team)

If I struggle to watch slow games like cricket sobre, I doubt I can watch NFL. But thanks for the insight.

yep agreed! I had previously seen the show Friday Night Lights so I kinda already knew the basics of the game. I read up on the rules and also got a lot of help from Tortilla9

Seems Eli always finds a way of beating Brady, Eli is like Brady's Messi....Not a Giants fan, but like Eli and wanted them to win over "ladies man Brady" and i was sad at the Raven's loss, so glad dey lost

@Spike_spiegiel: Slow? i understand the stops can be frustrating if you are not used to the game....But its a pretty fast game when it gets going, i guess just try to go through a quarter its roughly 25mins (including commercial) and make a judgement after that...And try to watch some football movie or show like francozola said, that might spark up your interest in it...If you need references i can help...

Can someone explain how a Franchise Tag works? I've googled it and I seem to understand the basic meaning of it but don't really get when and why teams would choose to do it. Why would a team assign a quality player with a Franchise Tag instead of offering him a new contract?

I think a franchise player is when a team is build around him. For example Brady is the franchise player from Pats, Arod Packers etc...usually they refer this title to QBs. Anyone can illustrate this better? xD I dont know, its my perception from what i read on the forums.
