ulsterchelsea 3,221
If it is true, blame lies with the club for agreeing to such a ridiculous deal. No need to blame Barca (for once). It's pretty insulting that we agreed to such a deal. We're not Peterborough United. I understand that we'll still get to have a quality player in our team for a season or two, but the entire concept of it is infuriating. Im not blaming them, its totally a ridiculous deal in our part. I just hate Barca

CHOULO19 24,332
It's obvious we'll have to wait to find out the nature of the deal. There's no way we could know now. But if what Barca are saying is true, we need a new negotiator at the club! Madmax

Madrid (Yes, they see the long term and consistently achieve outstanding revenue results - Perez is a marketing genius) and Milan especially are exceptional in those terms. LDN Blue 7,903
Barcelona said themselves, when they reported the deal, that they had inserted a buy-back clause. And to be honest, even if they didn't, he's a Barca boy. I don't know any ex-Barca players who haven't wanted to go back. Why wouldn't you? It's the best club in the world right now. All we can do is hope they're not as big of a force in 2013 so that he'll consider this the place to stay. It's a loyalty we can't really attack, because we'd expect the same from Josh for example. All this really is, is a loan deal. A loan deal where we'll make a profit regardless.
Wilson 358
Do we have to honour the but back clause? I mean isn't it just a first dibs kind of thing? Or could Barça take us to UEFA if we refuse to sell? And couldn't we just keep offering Romeu 1 or 2 year deals? Lol. I don't want him to go . Term-X 7,891
Bitterly disappointing words from his agent, our board have such a small club mentality now, humiliating deal.
Term-X 7,891
Oriol sees this club as beneath him..Clearly his agent found AVB's famous statement regarding his situation as hilarious. I'm sure Oriol and his compadres back in catalonia have a good old joke about that, and the deal itself. It's a crime he shared a press conference upon arrival with Lukaku, an avid Chelsea fan. The Oriol deal represents a turning point, being one of europe's elite clubs a distant memory.

St Abramovich 175
Well, I think we're maybe judging Oriol a bit early, bearing in mind he never said anything, his agent did.It could be to get him a better contract and even if he does feel this way, there's plenty of time for him to change his mind. He's only been here 6 months.

Henri 115
Of couse he will return to Barcelona. Boas is not telling the truth!. They can buy him back in 2012 for 10 mill or wait until 2013 for 15 mill.its like a loan deal that simpel, they send him out but made sure they have first say on whatever he return or not, like saying we belivein your for the future. On call from Pep and he is back in 2012 or 13. They send him to Pl to be a strong though player which theycan and will use in the future. So lets enjoy him while we can. I don't think he sees our club as beneath him, he is proving his top level worth with us, we are reaping the benefits of that (one such benefit being less playing time for Mikel) and when the time comes he will probably move back to Barcelona, with his reputation significantly enhanced and giving Barcelona yet another top class option to call upon. We should be happy about that? Not necessarily happy for our club but happy for the player who gets to live out a dream of his playing a big role for Barcelona. And I suppose we could take some pride in having helped to develop him as a player.
