OneMoSalah 8,886
It's going to cost more than that for Arturo Vidal, a lot more.Probably triple the 10 million, I don't think he'd be tempted to leave Juve though. He will wanting to see if they can improve on last season, same with a lot of their big players.
Jype 6,398
Let him go now, its better than him going when he becomes a key part of the team, use the £10m we will get and a bit more to try and get Vidal in.Time to buy Vidal was last year when he was leaving Leverkusen for peanuts. I wanted him badly last year and he was even linked with us at some point but now that he went to Juventus it's too late and the price must have been tripled after having a great season. AVB tried to get him but by the time he was hired Vidal was already in advanced talks with Juve...

We are more likely to sign Xavi. He's not leaving Juve anytime soon.
BlueLyon 9,359
If Rdm will count on him he will stay, if not then its pointless to keep him.It would be good to have him, great prospect, but uf he leaves, is he going to play regular for barca anytime soon? He is dm and Busquets is young dm too. Barca plays with only one and Romeu will be only Keita part of barca i think...If we played with him all season last year, he would now be our starter and and probably important one... BlueLyon 9,359
I just found that talksport was source for other press about Romeu returning to Barca. I guess he will stay here? I mean a month ago he admited he wants to stay here for sure, now he would go?
sleazyB 58
He will eventually go to barca, so why should we develop a player for them? Shame because he has a lot of promise.
Django 83
Other than Mikel, I don't think we have a player who splits opinion as much as Romeu does. Some say he's destined to be world class, others think he's mediocre. And to be honest, he's shown hints of both in his time here. He's not close to Mikel right now in my mind, but is solid cover for that position. He seems pretty committed to the club at least in the short-term too, so I'd like to see him get a few chances to impress from RDM.

The two are like complete opposites. Mikel operates best in zonal marking and slow tempo while Oriol applies high pressure and quick short passing tempo. Popular Post! Peace. 4,352 Posted August 5, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted August 5, 2012 Hence why we should use Romeu and stop using Obi when planning to attack and increase the tempo .I am agree with this.Since the second year of Ancelotti era, we have been found out. Teams know our weakness. They know we lack creativity and speed. They know we are prone to defensive mistakes. As a matter of fact, they know that to park the bus and counter attack us is a pretty good way to get a result from an encounter against us.In order to prevent this, and unlock those defenses, we need to have a high tempo. We need to make quick passes. And this, from the defenders to the forwards. That's the reason why I believe we should play Romeu as our defensive midfielder. The spaniard doesn't sleep on the ball. He makes simple short pass, and delivers the ball after no more than one or two touches. Furthermore, he is the kind of guy who chases the ball, who is good to put a high pressure. This aspect of the game will be important when we will face those teams. royg, Hamilton, TopDrog and 3 others

The reasons imo are first that Oriol lacks experience, and second, the rest of our team does not press the way Oriol does. High pressure is either a lethal weapon when done well by all the team or a disaster if even just one player doesn't press. BleedsBlue 1,549
Oriol is a great passer of the ball and speeds up the passing from one half to the other.

Mathewe 65
I'm sure it's been said many time before by others, but I'd really like to see Romeu get a shot in the double-pivot this season. He had some excellent games under AVB and seems to move the ball a lot quicker in general than Mikel. OneMoSalah
Kinol 337
Cant we all just wait until the season starts and let both Mikel and Romeu get some games. Then we can decide who should be our man. Personaly i dont think Mikel has been bad and i wouldnt mind having him as our DM but if Romeu can prove that he is better than Mikel, then he is our man. Rubber bullets 1,183
I take it wth Barca about to sign Alex Song, Romeu will be a Chelsea player at least for this season. If so, I really hope Di Matteo will give him a chance in the double pivot. He certainly better then Lampard or Essien in there.
