CHOULO19 24,332
Barca won't buy him back because he's not good enough...On what Basis do you make such claim? About a 20yo who almost literally walked into one of the best teams in England? He is not a finished article, he has lots of time left to develop.Your sentence may prove to be true in the future, I just don't see any way how you can make such a judgement now. LDN Blue 7,903
He's not a finished article, yeah I'll agree he's been less noticeable of late, but it's hard to ignore the tremendous impact he had in the beginning. I think it's wild to suggest Mikel should be playing there (in most games) because I think Mikel has uses at other times. Oriol should be our starting DM, I don't understand why Raul starts alongside Essien instead of Romeu.
Spike 12,049
He is just as likely to join Espanyol as he is Barcelona.Reasoning, you say? Well, he started his youth career there.
Idiot 71
To fullfil his potential we need extremely creativ midfielders so that he can concentrate on the defense. Romeu is very similar to Mikel. Only that most of you tolerate Romeus style of play because he comes from La fuckin Masia...

Now he's a bit more defensive. Who knows why, orders from André or he doesn't have room to get forward.

Sometimes he tried to take part in the build up but the team rarely benefited from that. Maybe he has the potential to raise his offensive abilitys but in my eyes his strength is interrupting the opponents build up and thats what he should focus on mainly. Defenitly more like Mikel than like Schweinsteiger for example

Tomo 21,751
I dont think he has been THAT bad, our only problem is Mikel's below par displays at the start (especially against Arsenal) and Romeu coming in and making an instant impact had led us to believe he is some sort off superman is why it's led to believe he's been crap. He's been ok, he just isnt Makele yet. Amblève. 4,995
He's been ok, he just isnt Makele yet.And he'll probably never be. I don't think that anyone should expect him to become a new Maka, but he can still become a good player.

The Big Drog 1,110
He hasn't played a lot of football lately which is a shame because he is a tremendous player. Im not sure why people are down on him at the moment, he is a terrific talent, in a completely different league to Mikel.

BleedsBlue 1,549
Because he's had a dip in form. Simple.I beg to differ.Romeu wasn't considered because our past few games have been against mediocre teams and AVB chose to use an attacking cm in form of meriereles. Also the return of Essien has made it more difficult for Romeu.IMO hes a wonderful talent and is a very good defensive midfielder. His passes are truly exceptional and his defending is top class. Ollie 4,400
The facts are he played and was impressive, he got better the more he played. He's since not played that much and therefore hasn't played as well but his potential is there. He's not a robot, he's not just gonna walk into the team at 20 and not have a bad game. He was very poor when he came on at the weekend but that was against a very hungry, aggressive Man Utd team that needed to score. This is Man Utd not Bolton, very tough situation for him and he was obviously nervous. I think he should play tomorrow with Essien and Lampard with the usual front 3. Popular Post! BlueLion. 21,491 Posted February 10, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted February 10, 2012 So, Oriol was fucking brilliant a month ago, now you're all slagging him off? I give up. Tomo, Blue Armour, Madmax and 5 others
LDN Blue 7,903
We have a first option on Oriol Romeu, but at this moment we don't plan to re-sign him- Barcelona Sporting Director, Andoni Zubizarreta
