Let me help you a bit here.

Not every blunder by cech was recorded. Most likely, you have not seen it. They do not show it on highlights.

One more thing. Don´t tell me I am biased !

They would show in on the highlights!

They are always desperate to highlight cech's mistakes so they can say "since the injury" Brilliant goalkeeper....

Every blunder is shown later. Whether Cech´s or others.

It´s very simple Cech do make mistakes occasionally, as seen.

Not a fucking chance does he have this release clause.

People need to get it through their heads that we ain't selling Courtois. Certainly not to fucking Barca.

Man, for a club that prides itself on it famed academy Barca sure do want a few of our players. Mata, Luiz, Courtois...FUCK OFF.

I have no problem with Cech, but how many times has he been beaten at his near post the past couple seasons. And they're goals like Carlton Cole's last season where he stands and watches weirdly lol.

He's awesome, but not faultless.

And how many times has he pulled an incredible save when it's 0-0 or 1-1? Almost every single game! Of course he makes mistake, every keeper does, but like I said before, Petr is our "Get out of Jail free" card.

Cech being error-prone is just about the most ridiculous notion you could come up with. Petr is one of the most consistent keepers in the world; much more consistent than the likes of Neuer, Buffon, Casillas, Hart(LOL)...etc

His great saves far outweigh his mistakes for sure.

Cech is still a fantastic keeper. He was one of the best keepers in the world last season. Yes, he makes mistakes but all keepers do and Cech doesn't make many. I understand the reasons for wanting to move on to Courtois, but it's not because Cech's form has slipped.

I view our situation a little bit like that of Indianapolis Colts' Peyton vs Luck one a couple of years ago...

Although the difference in quality between Manning and Luck is greater than that of Cech and Courtois, there are many similarities. Peyton still had 4-5 years of top quality american football left in him, with a good amount of chances of him winning another SuperBowl. However, a very young and promissing Andrew Luck would give the Colts 15+ years of playing time, securing Indianapolis chances in the long term. Their owner decided to have a drop in quality by giving up on Peyton Manning, in order to secure a future top QB!

We will have to decide between the same thing. Do we want what is still left of our best GK ever (who is still the best one in EPL) or do we want to move on and have 10+ years of an amazing young keeper?

I personally dont know the answer, but whatever Mourinho and Emenalo decides, I will back it up!

Kind of agree, however, Luck was selected over Manning cause they were afraid of Manning's injury would be career ending and did not want to risk it financially as well. Also in the NFL, their is a salary cap vs in BPL where their is no such thing...

had Manning never gotten his spinal injury, Luck would of never been selected and Manning would of still been a Colt.

With Tc and Cech, Cech has been injury free for a while and he is still considered "young" or at least not towards the end for a goalkeeper... I think the goalkeeper decision will be the most difficult for the board and Mourinho moving forward. However, I think we can keep both of them for a season together, but after that, one will probably be gone.....

The big mistake on Everton's goal was arguably Luiz leaving position to pressure the ball. After that fact, once that is done for, the remaining players involved could've done better and Cech allowed a player to head the ball within *his* 6-yard box.

I don't pretend to know the answer to such a complex question (and decision) which involves variables I've no access to (values, contract clauses, demands).

However, I tend to agree with others who say Cech is no longer playing at the same level he once was; I still think he is a top GK, but I thought he was the absolute #1 before the injuries.

Why the facepalm? Can't back up your claim of Cech being error-prone with more examples other than the 5-3 game? Or maybe you were just plucking things from thin air..

Because I thought facepalming was the new trend? You seem to do it quite a lot, I thought I might just try and be with the cool bunch.

Good analogy. We were discussing something similar to this on another forum. Not Cech related, but whether the broncos would give up high likelihood of success for a few years for long term stability.

As in... If they could would they swap manning for luck.

I think they would because it's not like luck is so bad he couldn't work with the team there, and the broncos would still have a great chance of immediate success although slightly reduced.

And linking it back to the topic, I think if I try to ignore previous loyalties to Cech, then swapping him for courtois makes perfect sense. He is not much worse than Cech right now, has the potential to be better, and can be there for a longer period of time. Though having said that, getting rid of a top quality petr Cech just doesn't seem right.

Also, quarterback is easily the most important and difficult position to find in the NFL while keeper is the least important and easiest to find in football. (I'm not saying it doesn't matter, but teams can win with poor keepers and great defences can make mediocre keepers look great.).
