Not really mate,they both can play defensive and a central role.The fact that Tottenham and West Ham use them for different purpose it is just to adapt them to their game plan.

I actually got excited with the prospect of Vidal.

Much younger then Parker, and can play those dual roles.

Expect to hear more from him in the coming days.

AVB strikes me as a smart guy, and won't spend a lot of money on players like Modric and Pastore. Even though we want them, but price is way over.

If Modrić is a answer to our problems we are doomed just as much (i am not saying i want Parker either).I don't see the hype about him or the fact that he is a massive player that can change our fortunes,plus he will be expensive and not worth it,and if he comes you will see for yourself mate.

seems Modric is one of our few remaining plausible targets and at least he didnt lead his team to relegation

Haha well Parker couldn't really help them stay up by himself.West Ham was absolutely shit all season long and they went down.Why didn't Modrić help Tottenham to a top four finish? he had the easier task.I don't want neither of them mate i was just pointing out that we will pay shit loads for a player that won't make the changes we want.I rate Lampard,Essien and Ramires all higher than him,and he can't be compared to Mikel since he is a dmf and i doubt he would play a dmf in Chelsea.

Parker didn't have all bad players around him, Ba was a great player for them, Piquionne wasn't bad and Hitzlsperger was a revelation.

We need a new midfielder for sure,but we can do much better for 30+mill than Luka Modrić don't you think?

Parker didn't have all bad players around him, Ba was a great player for them, Piquionne wasn't bad and Hitzlsperger was a revelation.

To be honest Spurs, but I'd rather have Ba in front of me than Defoe or Pavlyuchenko and Modric created far more chances for the strikers to put away.

I'd much rather have Modric, he makes his midfield tick and works for team whereas Parker plays the role of big fish in a small pond.

My biggest concern in MF is that we have no one to replace Lampard, it hurts me to say this but Lampard is finished, he might start the season but i guarantee you he won't end the season. He doesn't have the legs to play at a high level.

We are linked with players like Parker and Modric, none of them have the attribute to score goals and play the final pass.

it is funny Liverpool has already found a replacement for Gerrard at age 30, while we haven't even considered finding replacement for Lampard at age 33

btw what is this nonsense about finding a replacement for Essien?

we already brought one last year in Ramires. last year he was by far better then Essien anyway.

I have to agree, I dont think Modrich is the guy that will change our midfield like you think he would.
