If we change to samsung arena they might be able to put some decent speakers in the stadium and play some chants so we can add something to our woeful home support.................

I think we'd get the mickey taken out of us even more if we had speakers starting chants. It would seem lame with someone on a loudspeaker starting 'zigga zagga' and then about 10 people joining in

10m a year? Not bad at all.. The fact that the company is quite close to Mansour means that City establishing themselves amongst the top teams and the "Manhester City" brand getting bigger wouldn't have made much of a difference on the sum they will get.

"City of Manchester" was so bloody generic that changing its name is going to be easy, certainly easier than renaming Stamford Bridge which is why its naming rights are probably worth much less.

It's the way the sport is going these days, football is ruled by money & it's sucking the life and soul out of the game. Stamford Bridge will always be Stamford Bridge to the fans even if/when it's renamed to something stupid like "Samsung Arena".

Liverpool and Arsanal are now complaining about City deal.

I think they are just jealous.

UEFA should stay the hell out of this!

They are not jealous. This deal is one of the most immoral things in football business history.

Not because they renamed the stadium, football is business and money, but when you talk about business this deal is immoral.

Are you fucking crazy?

We are talking about a 400m english pounds deal. Its even more than the top NFL clubs in USA, clubs that are a greater brand that City in every aspect. Clubs that movement much more money.

This is just a stupid strategy to avoid the axe under the Platini's financial Fair Play.

Stupid shaiks. This and artificial fee. No serious company in the world would pay such amount of money to any football club, even if its Barcelona or United, and what about City.

Can those two even be used in the same sentence?

I'm pretty sure I rep'ed a post of yours during the last few weeks where you wrote about market and freedom.

He did.

He was all about market freedom. And that UEFA is doing it wrong.

I think Henrique is just jealous like Arsanal and Liverpool cause City got an uber deal and we did not.

Free market doesnt mean you should allow this kind of stupid deal under a regulation.

If there is a fair play rule, then you cant allow this kind of deal, or the rule wont make any sense.

Thats why this is stupid and immoral. Not because of the money, but because its to avoid getting the axe under a rule.

Im not discussing if the rule is necessarily. For me football is business and you should allow clubs to spend as much as they want, as long as it doesnt mean destroying the sport. Buying Torres for 50m wont destroy football.

But now there is a rule, so UEFA must take some actions, if not City would be allowed to spend big every year and other clubs wont, not because City is doing a good job, but because the stupid sheiks are making this kind of artificial deal to "fool" the rule.

If there was not any rule, so city could make 1 billion deal and I would not care, but this deal is only to cheat the rule and cheat other clubs that are trying to get into the regulations.
