------------------------Drogba---------------------

Torres----------------------------------------Hulk

---------------Modric----------Ramires---------

------------------------Essien---------------------

Cole----------Terry----------Ivanovic----van der Wiel

-------------------------Cech-----------------------

Bench: Hilario, Delac; Luiz, Alex, Bertrand, van Aanholt, Bosingwa; Lampard, Mikel, Benayoun, Kakuta, McEachran; Sturridge, Kalou

OUT: Turnbull, Ferreira, Anelka, Malouda, Zhirkov

- Luiz as defensive allrounder (CB//LB/RB/DM)

- Lampard/Modric rotation.

- Torres can compete for FC spot with Drogba and Sturridge will be our #3 winger after Hulk and Torres (not that I like the idea of playing Torres on the wing).

Sturridge is left footed, if he is supposed to play as winger, its in the left wing, not in the right.

My ideal line-up

------------------Cech-----------

new/RB----Luiz----Ivanovic (captain)----Ashley Cole

--------------new defensive mid*--------------*some english guy

------------Modric------new playmaker---------

-----------------Neymar**--------------------- **playing freely

---------Falcão----------Sturridge------

:goodpost: Agree ..I'd rather see what the final squad looks like first ..Until then look forward to pre season games

Exactly. Should be bumpled around the 25th of August when the squad will be more or less finalized.

You could say quite a few of those goals came from really poor marking, but that was also the case for many of the early goals in Didier's career as well....

A really good player with lot of variety in his play, and quite good with both feet when it comes to shooting...Shame Carlo never gave him much of a role in Nov-Dec...would've reduced the pressure on the senior attackers to deliver, at a time when the mid field was poor....

2 players fighting for every position, we need to show players that if they don't perform they will be dropped.

Rotation is key, keeping the players fresh and ready to assault on all four competition's, depth is important too because last September/October although we kept winning it was starting to take its toll before everything exploded in December, and although i wanted Carlo 1 last year to rectify all this some of the tactics and line-up's were so predictable it was laughable.

Squad depth is the most important thing for this season, which is why Kalou should stay, his stats for a squad player are pretty impressive tbf.

Good point...in fact, Kalou's stats are superior to that of Theo Walcott who's a regular in the Arsenal line-up

Stats mean nothing in football.

I'm sorry but I hate when people defend Kalou with stats. Looking at his game play generally, just take 1 look and you'll see he's simply not good enough to keep around. He should be sold now while he's still 25.. I'm sure there will be lower-table clubs who will look to buy him.

I never said he should be part of any starting line-up..he's not consistent enough for that..but as a squad player he usually does the job whenever the situation calls for it...

Truth is, I don't think WE'll be holding onto him for long..... as we can never offer what he wants: a regular starting role...
