AVB annoyed by Pardew

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas believes Newcastle counterpart Alan Pardew should have kept quiet after last weekend's defeat at St James' Park.

The Portuguese has been firmly under the spotlight for the past week after accusing the media of a premeditated agenda against his club.

Villas-Boas believes Pardew also demonstrated double standards when complaining about David Luiz's escape from a red card in Chelsea's 3-0 win last Saturday lunchtime.

The centre-back committed a last-man challenge on Demba Ba and escaped a red card, much to the annoyance of Pardew, when only receiving a booking.

But Villas-Boas said ahead of Monday's match with Manchester City: "Nobody tried to focus on the fact that maybe Demba Ba was offside in the David Luiz challenge. Nobody took that option.

"They all wanted to give him the red card straight away.

"Alan Pardew made a big scandal out of this but the guy is offside.

"Maybe the linesman should have done his work - and maybe Pardew was lucky!

"He even got a free-kick which Ryan Taylor could have scored from, and I got a yellow card and a player suspended.

"So maybe, now, I should get the player and the card rescinded, because it was an offside the linesman didn't give.

"And this is the same manager who got a (controversial) penalty at Old Trafford to get a 1-1 making a big scandal out of this.

"And then it was 'It got their player (Steven Taylor) injured, because David Luiz wasn't sent off' - come on!"

Exactly. They do this purposely. What was the need to ask him about Pardew's comments at that PC, when it's about the City game. Fair enough he could've avoided answering, but they're purposely trying to get him riled.

Yeh what Redknapp said about Steve Kean being someone to be under real pressure by the media and fans is true. I feel for that guy. He hasn't done that bad a job and hasn't been helped by pathetic owners and yet the fans just crucify him week after week.

AVB's comments after Valencia were still ok imo because he was pumped up and frustrated by the media which I can understand but he needs to drop it now and also stop talking about Neville and co because they are pundits and the majority of them are morons anyway. He's not going to change their minds because they are naturally biased and the comments that he's made will actually make them against us even more.

Also I thought Gary Neville was very fair in his commentary on Tuesday. I've also read comments by regular Sky viewers that his punditry is unbiased as well.

Steve Kean is a woeful manager and deserves all the abuse he gets. You and Arry should be ashamed of yourselves. He took a top ten team and made them into relegation fodder. He should never have been promoted in the first place - why would an inexpirienced coach be promoted to PREMIER LEAGUE manager? Smells of corruption. The owners seem like they couldn't give a second sh*t about the fans nor the club. They gave him an improved contract on large wages after he only had one win all season! The guy will bring them down and the owners will asset strip their club, sending them to league one with loads of debt. They have agents leeching off them who get 400% add-on fee that goes to their pocket of the players value. The swansea game just masked a truly pathetic record. A bit off-topic I know, but the man is a joke of a manager, and Blackburn fans should rightly be aggrieved.

Press conferences are for the coach and the media to interact with one another and exchange views and opinions. If the media can question and criticize the coach, the coach has every right to question and criticize the media. After all its his job he's defending not yours....

I like him. I want a manager who has balls and isn't afraid to recieve and unleash criticism. People talk shit about him and Chelsea and some expect him to say nothing. He can say what he wants, human rights and all.
