Massive signing this would be, too bad it's coming from a shitty source.

Maybe you could enlighten me, but I am wondering -why aren't Chelsea interested in Lacazette? As a matter of fact, why aren't more top clubs interested in him?! Is it OL's asking price? Is there something wrong with the player? His attitude? His commitment to the game? Because for me he is a wonderful striker, a modern predator, worth every penny. Deschamps' decision to keep him out of the Euros squad left me baffled to be fair, for me he is head and shoulders above Giroud and Gignac. Is there anything about him that could keep managers/clubs from looking at him as a potential signing?
-
He is a handsome motherfucker (no homo!), comes with new tactics and a new mentality at this club and most importantly for me - likes to command everything from the sidelines and never stops shouting. Happy days.

Moses releasing his inner Eden Hazard in yet another pre-season. Might get lucky with Conte this time. Really like his attitude.

Can't get fussed over a pre-season game, especially the 1st one. This training camp in Austria is all about getting the right fitness levels. This time last week the lads were on the beach. Add to that they've only had six training sessions under the new manager. I think the US tour is where Antonio Conte will be looking to shape the first "11", with one, maybe two question marks before the West Ham game. My two cents on the back four (if Conte plans to play a back four in the end) - a new centre back and a left back is imperative, with Azpilicueta and Zouma the other two defenders. Ivanovic, Cahill & Terry are simply past it and totally unsuitable for Conte's high intensity football IMO. Mikel - no words. He can't be here come August 15th, can he? Matic - meh... Not a bad game, but for me he looks lost, nowhere near the player he used to be in the title winning season. Turns 28 in a few days and frankly I would cash in now, while he still has some value on the market and give another go at Nainggolan.

Would like it to be a 3-5-2, but it looks like 4-3-3 all day long. Come on you Chels !!!
-
Think this is a super deal given his age, the superb season he's coming off and the absurd prices going in the market these days.
-
Welcome to the Bridge mister! Next season can't come soon enough :excited:

Chill mate it has not even started yet, 10 mins to go. David said two hours ago that is going to be live on chelseafc.com, no one is keeping the links for them lol

Hahah yeah mate, happened here as well. Last night, I was watching the Sports news on Romania's biggest TV channel when all of a sudden I hear "Celtic fell to a bunch of amateurs from Gibraltar bla bla bla, goal was scored by drug dealer who just got out of prison after 6 years".
-
For me, too. There's something about him that makes me think he is going to be a hit here. Can't wait for his presser tomorrow.

Yes, bravo, Toni Kroos another good example. Although slow as a boat, but can control the midfield with ease. You saw last night what I was talking about -regarding Pogba. Portugal played incredibly deep and w/o their star man -it was the perfect chance for Pogba to shine and prove doubters like me that he is worth the big money. What other chance if not the big Final of the European tournament played in your own country. He was gash for pretty much the entire tournament, last night it was his chance to shine and, why not, maybe add a few more bucks to his United contract, too. But IMO he blew it and frankly Matuidi and Sissoko looked way better than him. Maybe not in terms of quality, but it terms of their involvement in the game. For me this is what a 100m player has to do -to be the 1st violin, to take the game by the scruff of the neck, impose yourself as the general, the multimillion superstar. Especially in a 4-4-2 system and a midfield two with Matuidi where clearly one of the two midfielders has to go forward and show his leadership. And that midfielder for me had to be Pogba last night, but unfortunately he was not. Like I said, I do not want to sound stupid, the talent is there, the amazing ability, but at the same time we cannot deny that PROBABLY he was made to look that good because of Juventus' midfielders, too. With Pirlo, Arturo Vidal, Marchisio et al, he was never made to be the midfield general, the pressure was not that big, flourished in their shadow. But at United it will be completely different -with Rooney no. 10 and another defensive minded midfielder (a la Matic), Pogba will have to be the main creative midfielder and step up his game, otherwise the English media will be eating him alive.

Does not look like a goodbye message. I see the #ritiro #dimaro hashtags, means they are off to the training camp in Dimaro.

Agree Fernando, prices are inflated as fuck, but IMO it does not look right at all to be throwing over £85m (that's €100m) on two young, unproven strikers. Especially on Alvaro Morata who, for me, has done nothing to be valued that much. I have read someone in this thread saying he is Spain's main centre forward - no, he is not. If it had not been for that hamstring injury, Diego Costa had been called by Del Bosque and played ahead of Morata at the Euros. I felt from the beginning that this rumour could be bullshit as there is no way Chelsea could be that stupid to pay that much for Morata. Hope I'm right and we stay away. Diego Costa and Batshuayi is enough, for me, to start this season. To be throwing another £55m on a striker that no way is worth that much, when Chelsea is in desperate need of at least a quality CB and a CM, would be diabolically stupid.
-
What's he done to command such a price is beyond my understanding.
-
Jesus Christ, The Sun is such an insult to every normally functioning brain. Wonder what kind of human being you must be to pay money for that piece of crap. This morning in The Sun: "Bonucci will snub City for a reunion with Conte at Chelsea." Tonight in The Sun: "Bonucci will not be joining Antonio Conte at Chelsea, his agent is in England to negociate a deal with Man City."

I do agree with you, but at the same time I think this theory (expensive players almost always end up being the best) goes mainly for household names. Yes, Paul Pogba is probably in TOP 10 most known football players ATM, but for me not a world-class player. Not yet. Not saying he will not live up to the expectations, could end up being the best midfielder that has ever played this game, or could flop big time, nobody knows that. What I am trying to say is that now, 7th of July 2016, for me, Pogba is more of a huge talent, a diamond waiting to be polished, rather that a household name. When Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale were transfered by Real Madrid for record breaking transfers, they were already huge players for their respective teams, coming off a sensational season. Pogba? I dont know. Is he even Juve's best player? By worldwide recognition probably, but in terms of influence? Is he really the catalyst in that team? For me, for a midfielder to demand such a high amount of money, he must be someone in the mould of Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez or Luka Modric, someone majestic, with a lot of flair, that has this natural ability to be a leader on the pitch, to dictate the tempo, to be so smooth in possession that when you watch a football game you are left for words, amazed by their elegance.

Seen a lot of bullshit going around these days on how Ibrahimovic and Pogba would now be Chelsea players "had Mourinho stayed here". Plus a lot of wank hashtags "#Ambition" and shit like that. From what I have read, should this deal go through, the numbers would be insane - £105m the transfer amount, £300k p/w for Pogba and £25m for his agent, Mino Raiola. Right now most of the Mourinho fan boys must be thinking "Hell, it could have been Chelsea instead of United if Mourinho was still here", but I wonder - how many of those would still agree with these obscene numbers being thrown around. I bet this forum would be in meltdown had Chelsea, with Mourinho still here, tried to sign Pogba for 105m, give him 300k p/w, plus an extra 25m to his agent. And rightly so. Top talent, but nowhere near worth that.

With pretty much wank sponsorship deals to be fair. Their Nike deal was worth £13m per season, while the Fly Emirates one was/is £15m. About four times less than what Chelsea will be getting with Nike and Yokohama (£100m per season both). Add the new TV deal to that and CL football money will be completely irrelevant. Had Arsenal had United-esque sponsorship deals back when they were still paying for the new stadium, they'd have had no problems signing top players.
