  1. Am I the only one baffled by "Kenedy at left back" discussion? Why would Conte play a fringe player out of position? He is a winger, he's played on the wing through the youth ranks. On the right wing to be more exact, not even on the left. Mourinho played him at left back because this is what he does with attacking players. That doesn't mean he's now a full back lol.
  2. I feel you but my fear is that after spending 70m on a player, the club might not be that reluctant to spend another 30-40m on another player. This is why I think that defence must be adressed first, then I don't care, they can throw bids for every striker and their dog left and right as far as I'm concerned.

  4. If they are willing to spend 70m on another centre forward at the expense of at least one top defender (yes, that kind of money buys you a hell of a defender), then something must be happening behind closed doors. They (the board) are either complete idiots, Conte is mad in his head thinking he can improve that backline, or simply they are afraid of Terry, Cahill and Ivanovic's power in the locker room, thinking the atmosphere would go ballistic if those are benched.
  5. It all very much depends on what Koeman's plan is - He's now got four central defenders in the squad (Funes Mori, Jagielka, Ashley Williams and Lamine Kone), all four wanting nothing but a starting place. In this case Koeman could go for the 3-5-2 he's used before at Southampton. If this happens, I can't find any reason why would they let Lukaku go. Plus, they would have a pretty good lucking strike force with Lukaku and Bony. But if Koeman sticks to the 4-2-3-1, then I don't know, Lukaku might be on the move as I can't see Bony giving away his £5m per year salary at City to come to Everton as a bench warmer, on lower wages, too.
  6. This is a brilliant move actually, gets to play for a big club, fight for the league title and work for a manager he's already scored 17 goals under during 14/15 season. Ajax have no better centre forward than him in the squad, he's going there to play as a regular starter for a club that has produced so many quality players during the years. Don't know what is wrong with that. Arkadiusz Milik is probably the most wasteful centre forward I've seen in the past years, still Ajax have managed to get £28m for him. Average to decent player, not more than that, but that pacey league in Holland helped him. Ajax are an offensive minded team full of talented players upfront, no doubt Traore is going to thrive there under a manager he knows and will play him to his strenghts.
  7. Home game. Good. In between Watford away and Burnley at home.
  8. Just broke the €1 billion mark on money spent on transfers. It only took him 12 years and not a single academy product developed into at least a decent player.
  9. Actually he has asked the club to renew his contract and increase the release clause at £60m. Athletic is one of the most prestigious clubs in Spain and their players feel proud to wear that shirt because the whole community is behind them, no matter what. The club is a cult in Bilbao with probably the most loyal fans in the country. Laporte's interviews have always been music to Athletic's fans ears, he showes them utter respect and they adore him for that. Not only once he's stated that he does not care about money and fame and would play for Athletic for his entire career. A lot of players have rejected big money offers from top clubs during recent times (Susaeta, Iraola, De Marcos) and the best example is Julen Guerrero when Bayern Munchen was ready to trade the moon and the sun for him and he did not even want to hear about leaving the city. Llorente and Ander Herrera are different cases because they were greedy and asked for too much money to renew their contracts.

  11. Yeah, Matic and Remy looked pretty miserable, too.
  12. Training session at the Bridge live on Chelsea TV right now.
  13. 25m plus Zaza - yes. 10m plus Zaza - FUCK OFF. Although I don't know why would he come here to be the 3rd choice when everytime I had watched Juventus and he came off the bench he always looked so disgusted and unhappy. Clearly he wanted a bigger role at Juventus, something he is not going to get here either.
  14. Will probably score 15 next season, mostly in Madrid 5-0 wins at the Bernabeu, against dross opposition such as Leganes, Alaves, Gijon and certain people would still cream all over him. But in truth he is probably one of the most overrated players in Europe that adds nothing upfront. Not even goals, as a matter of fact has a terrible goalscoring record at 24. And people constantly bash Lukaku who has scored over 100 goals so far and he's just turned 23 a few months back. £75m player my ass, no wonder he could not dislodge Mandzukic from Juventus' starting line-up. A couple of cameos now and then and suddenly he's worth a fortune. Lol. The £25m Madrid payed to take him back, that's his real value.

  16. Can't wait for tonight's match frankly. Should be a cracker, Sampaoli's introduction to the European football. He's used his trademark 3-3-1-3 in friendly matches so far, really looking forward to seeing if he's going to stick to this as the season goes by. Outlets in Spain indicate that he will. Sevilla's probable line-up tonight is Konoplyanka Vietto Kiyotake N'Zonzi Escudero Iborra Mariano Kolo Carrico Pareja Rico
  17. I feel you mate but he's simply not worth it. How did City pay £42m for this donkey defies all logic.
  18. Simeone has knocked at every door this summer for a new striker. Don't you think he'd have at least taken Borja Baston for the pre-season friendlies had he rated him?
  19. Do you think Simeone would let him go if he was that good? And of all the teams in this world, he ends up at Swansea. He's clearly not good enough, especially not good enough to replace Diego Costa lol. It's like comparing Shelvey and Iniesta.
  20. No way they'd sell him to a direct rival. He is probably going to Italy on loan with an option to buy set at around £15-16m next summer.
