  1. Can you lads keep on topic please. It is very irritating for members to read a page load of drivel, just to get to info they maybe interested in. As I said before, If you must argue about who is the oldest and most mature, could you do it through the boards private message service please.
  2. Couldn't have put it better myself Esk.
  3. Fair enough David, but I can't see Anelka being able to play every game, and with Drogs prone to injury/sulks, another striker would be good. I would take either Benzema or Aguero in a heartbeat. Look at the bench last season, If it was looking dodgy and an injection of pace or skill was needed, we had no threat on the bench. Granted Kalou was a regular on the bench, but I don't think he would strike fear into the opposition. Imagine if a defence had an hour of Drogba/Aguero, and then had to deal with Anelka coming on.
  4. I went for Benzema based on the fact that I think his strength and skills would suit us better in the Prem. But what do I know ? I predicted somewhere on this site that Torres would be too lightweight for the Premier League.
  5. Another long term plan eh? I don't think so. We need to lower the the age of the squad, not add to it. Fucking Kenyon and his "superstar" obsession is really starting to get on my tits.
  6. Good to know he is on the mend Esk, he is a class act. But back to Stoch, I can see him breaking into the first team and doing well, if given the chance.
  7. I completely agree with Esk and BB, we need to build for the future, success will come with stability. To add another older player does not make any sense, despite him being a great striker.
  8. With the reported demands of the player, I'm glad he has gone to Madrid. No one can ever doubt his ability, but do we need a prima dona that would have cost us over £100 million with his wage demands and signing on fee? For that money we could get a couple of class(hopefully younger) players.
  9. I can't see it to be honest, Ash has said time and again that he is happy with us. I think that Carlo Ancelotti would be well pissed if he went. He has said that he wants to keep Cole for sure.
  10. I'd love to see him in Chelsea colours, but as the report says "Milan are unlikely to let another of their top stars leave San Siro this summer after Kaka's sensational move to Real Madrid." But hopefully Ancelotti can persude him to come.
  11. With all these big names touted in the press connected to us (some probably true and some probably a Mikel shot wide of the mark) I am kinda worried that we could see the Robinho situation all over again this year. Real are making all the right noises, which in turn sees all the stars preferring to become Galactico's instead of coming to us. I know its silly season, but I think we should officially announce negotiation has started with someone somewhere. Discuss....
  12. I don't agree, I think Ricy is an essential part of our defence. Alex is great, but JT and Ricy are the best partnership in the Premier league. He might be cracking on age wise, but still a very skillful defender.
  13. Do you not think he could be another Sheva ? Yes he is a great player there is no doubting that. But the Premiership is so different from Serie A.
  14. Thanks guy's, its good to be back.
  15. Cool it gents, this is a transfer thread. If you want to have a row take it to PM please. As for signing Kaka, it is a ridiculous amount of money for one player, even one of his quality. We could buy a couple of decent strikers for that money. Although the club have denied it, I still think there is a lot of truth in the rumour.
  16. I really really have my reservations about Ancellotti, but with Guus still with us and the friendship he has with Roman, I hope he proves me wrong. His English is not too bad, if you go to the club site and listen to his interview on Chelsea TV, his English is much better than I expected. He needs the money to secure his signings and given a chance.
  17. Hello to my old friends here on TC, and hello to those I haven't yet had the pleasure to talk to. I have been away for a long time, and have missed you guy's. I got to go to a lot of games this season and missed talking about them on here. So now I am back and hopefully to stay. See you on the boards
  18. WTF was that performance all about ? Just got back and am still angry after driving 50 miles home. I am angry at the dickhead linesman, the dickhead ref, the dickhead van rapist but most of all the dickhead players who don't deserve their wages this week. I just didn't see any sign of urgency or anything other than apathy from them. I very rarely criticize JT, but since the CL final, he just doesn't seem to be the skipper he was. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and would not replace him ever, but he needs an arm around the shoulder and reminded what a decent captain he has always been. Confidence looks at an all time low and I suppose we have to wait it out, but shit its frustrating. We have no plan B and it didn't actually look like we had a plan A today. Wherever our confidence went, we had better get it back sooner rather than later or we can forget about any silverware this year.
  19. Didn't know you kept fish Yougs, I keep them too. I have one 180 UK gallon tank and one 90UK gallon tank set up at the moment. I also have 30 uk gallon in the bedroom and a 55 UK gallon hospital tank. I keep Central American Cichlids and catfish.
  20. He pisses me off, but I am not sure how much of what he says is twisted by hacks. I think he should shut his mouth and concentrate on being what he is, and that is a world class striker that we would be extremely foolish to get rid of. He was monumental in our fight for the Premier league and coaxed properly will be again. Yes he is getting on, and yes there is a need for a younger talented striker at the club. But lets not lose sight of the part that Drogba has played in our success.
  21. A definite off night. I just cannot believe we played like that. We were way over confident, and got punished for it. Two of their goals were bread and butter for our defence usually. Its not nice at all, but I guess every team has an off night. We are much much better than that.
  22. I too will be there in the West stand I think we will win this 3-0 we have Drogs back on the bench, although Riccy will be a big miss as usual. Don't get me wrong, I do like Alex, but Riccy is World class. Looking forward to this one.
  23. The problem as I see it, is that the stadium is 119 years old and disability was never an issue then. I for those who don't know have only recently been disabled, so at the moment it is a burning issue with me right now. The stadium is fully accessible for matchday's and for the clubs open training days, which is obviously the purpose it was designed for, so that gets them well within the Disabled discrimination laws. Also I have just phoned and asked them their procedures regarding stadium tours and provided it is booked enough in advance, they will have people there to assist. I personally think that is fair enough. I think that it is difficult both for the staff and for the disabled person to negotiate the whole tour therefore I think a little leeway is called for on both sides.
  24. No quite the opposite Warnie, the lady couldn't have been more helpful. I have heard some right horror stories from disabled fans at other clubs about the way they have been treated, so I thought it was time for a bit of praise where its due.
