As has already been said, most of the work is being done by Clarkey and Ten Cate. For some reason Roman see this fella as a figurehead and so far it has worked. I could never wish for a poor run of results whoever was in charge. Lets judge him on his future buys if indeed it is him that buys them and not Ten Cate who I have a feeling will be running this side of club ultimately.

Great post Esk and what I have been trying to say really, but you summed it up so much better than me. Some people have read me wrong, Im not defending Grant, Im just saying that my love for this club comes over and above what is happening at the moment. I can only see past this and watch the boys doing the thing thay do best, and thats making me happy by winning football matches. I loved Jose as much as anyone (what CFC fan wouldn't ?) I too am of the opinion he will be found out in the end, but you say the team and style of play hasn't changed. Well you are of course right, but it wasn't ever going to change that quickly was it ? As others have said he isn't worth having as he is not an improvement on anything we have. 9 million is a ridiculous amount to pay for a player to warm the bench, So I don't believe that. I mean not with 30 million already warming the bench anyway.

Again I find myself agreeing 100% with you Esk. I too hope he isn't stuck in the holding role as good as he is there. But he has a certain something going forward and because of his size he is a match for most defenders and in full flight with the ball he makes an fearsome attacking player.

Not so sure I liked the fact that he tagged the Steve Clarke bit on the end there. SC is a legend a imo a very important part of what this club has become. I do not doubt that a lot of good has come from Ten Cate, but the players have still got that bond with Clarkey the same as us the fans have. I really hope that he is an integeral part of Grants future plans for the club.

Great news if true. Sorry but hard to be anything other than sceptical about anything published in that rag. But Essien is definately an important part of our squad and as others have said We would benefit greatly by keeping him until he hangs his boots up.

I am definately with you on this Gianfranco, I would love to see Jose in charge of England. I too was hurt at not going to the Euro 08, Im sure with Jose in charge we would have made it with games to spare. What would these other people like to see, Jose going to Liverpool perhaps ? That said however , im not sure that the old fogeys at the FA would employ him as he isn't a yes man at all.

I don't ! I am of the opinion very similar to Blue Lion, We have had a iffy start really and considering the bombshell with Jose, we are doing very nicely thank you. As already stated a win v the Gooners and its all wide open again. Everyone is harping on about what a fantastic team Utd have got, and thats pretty hard to disagree with ( although it hurts) Well to be two points behind them isn't at all bad considering the press have written us off already.

I'd find that pretty hard to disagree with Blue Lion. I would love Sheva to find some of what we know he has. As you said in a previous post, He is class and you don't lose them skills overnight. But Im afraid peoples patience are running thin.

A very very average performance against a lacklustre side. I watched the game on Setanta and was bored pretty much all the way through it.
