The Liverpool forum is probably not a safe place today. I have seen their fans ranting that whomever is handling transfers needs to be sacked,

Shamelessly stolen from Reddit , I found this very interesting and hope you do.
A lot has been said in recent days about FFP and that Chelsea Football Club is breaching the rules or at least in danger of falling into noncompliance. Plenty of our own fans are worried and uneasy about the situation (as well as the salt coming from other clubs' fans (*cough* Liverpool *cough*)) so I decided to write a couple of things about why it is unlikely to be a problem.
Financial Fair Play is a set of regulations that has been brought in to stop clubs from spending virtually unlimited amounts of money. Is it successful? Partially, yes. The Saudis cannot take over Newcastle and pump in a billion quid a year just because they want to. On the other hand, it failed to stop big clubs from spending big money. Then again, the idea was never for City and Burnley to have the same 'transfer cap', but to stop clubs being so overstretched financially that they might collapse with a couple of bad decisions. From this year on, the FFP rules have changed. Previously, we were operating on the assumption of maximum allowable loss over any three year period. Now that has changed to a cap on transfers and wages equivalent to a percentage of club revenue. This year it's 90%, next year it will be 80% and from 25/26 in it will be at 70% revenue. What does it mean for Chelsea Football Club? According to Deloitte Football Money League, our revenue has totalled €568.000.000,00 last year. This means that no more than €511 million can be spent on transfer amortisation and wages this season. Next year will be much more problematic. Looking at revenues of clubs that miss out on playing in the Champions League, the revenue drop is consistent at around 10-15%. For my very simple calculations I have assumed a 20% fall. That would mean that our maximum transfer and wage spend for 2024/25 will be around €360 million. So... what is the actual spend? Well, we've all already learnt that spending €100 million on a player doesn't mean that the club accounts are charged with that amount. The transfer fee is divided by contract length, which has been restricted to a maximum of 5 years starting this summer. (It's very important to note that this restriction applies only in UEFA. The Premier League imposed no such regulations.) What does the numbers look like? Not counting in Caicedo as it remains unconfirmed, we spent a total of around €750.000.000,00. It's an astronomical amount, sure, but the yearly financial outlay comes in at slightly above €120.000.000,00. This is the number we're looking at against the max allowable spend. There is also an outstanding €40.000.000,00 from the transfers of Romelu Lukaku (€22.5 pa), Kepa (€11.50 pa) and Chilwell (€6m pa). The total comes in at €160.000.000,00 per annum spent on transfers. At the same time we have drastically reduced our wage bill. In the season 2022/23, we spent €265 million on wages. This year it will come in at around €175 million. Slightly higher than Liverpool, €20 million lower than Arsenal and a whopping €65 million lower than City and United. This means that our total financial outlay on transfers and wages comes in at around €340 million. €150 million below what we can spend this season, but only slightly below what will be available for 2024/25. The biggest problem is Lukaku, which costs us €40 million every single year. Finding a transfer away here is an absolute priority. This however, is before we take any note of the outgoings. We have sold players for a total of €314 million and made a profit of €200.50 million on those transfers. As I have said many times before, selling one or two players per window makes absolutely no sense from an accounting perspective. UEFA rules stipulate that for accounting purposes transfer income is calculated as the highest profit made in the past three seasons. This means that those sales, or the €200.50 million to be exact, will add value to our books for the next *three years*. Another sign of just how well thought out the strategy of Boehly and Eghbali actually is. The new FFP regulations are actually very beneficial for us. Clubs like Newcastle have a simple problem. They have a wealthy owner, but they had very limited revenues in the past few years which means that they can actually spend relatively little. Chelsea on the other hand has been one of the biggest clubs in the world for the past two decades and we have the revenues to prove it. AND this is even with just how badly mismanaged the commercial side was under Abramovich. (For comparison, the sponsorship income of CFC last year was €210 million. This is Spurs/Juventus/Dortmund region. United brought in €310m, Liverpool €275m and City €373m.) Why then, do we negotiate for two months to sign a player for £80 million instead of 100 and end up paying £115m. There are two simple reasons here. Just because we are safe doesn't mean that we should be paying anything and everything. Being safe today doesn't mean being safe tomorrow and it's prudent to be careful. The second, and much worse, is cash in hand. No club in the world (and a handful of companies in general) can generate enough cashflow to spend €750.000.000,00 in cash. We could go to third parties (like we did with Enzo since Benfica wanted cash up front), but that adds extra costs. TLDR - The FFP problems that Chelsea might be facing are way overblown by people who have no clue what the numbers and regulations actually are. At this point there is no real risk of falling into noncompliance with FFP rules.

Well I'm not one to have say they are ruining the club.. they have done some bad business but they have also done some fantastic business. What can't be denied, is they are backing Chelsea FC big time and straight from the start. It's a beautiful sight to behold.

Tyler Adams is a compromise option to show that we have taken someone and to show how incompetent  is this management to take someone of the caliber of Caicedo, Tchouameni  etc, so we take Adams from Leeds.
With such transfers, the top 4 is an impossible mission.

it is not about pre-season form but whether those two will be able to perform well in their positions over 6-8 months. Gallagher is not a defensive mid and a pivot of Gallagher-Enzo is a disaster waiting to happen.

Broja needs to start from now on, no excuses.
Azpi is done, what did he do that Fofana can't? I know Fofana may have had a better chance at closing the gap to the fella who scored, that's for sure. Azpi saw he was there but didn't have the legs to press or try and cut the ball out.. like I say he's done.
Havertz needs to be dropped for the foreseeable future.
We actually played pretty well in that game but their goal was a result in a lapse of concentration from all involved with Silva lunging into a tackle that didn't need lunging into.
We attacked with intent and had promising moments...
The sheer idiocy of people already damming Potter after a week in charge makes me feel ashamed of our own to be honest.
Need to rally together and support this man. Let him do his work..

I'm not going to argue that the football has been a hard watch for a good while now. Could forgive the back end of last season as the feeling and mood around the club was so low, I've never personally experienced it myself where I was literally begging and looking forward to the season finishing and taking a break over the summer from worrying about football. But unfortunately that has continued so far this season.
However, there are sometimes things that go beyond the simple win-loss record and attractive football.
Last season the situation in Ukraine (wrongly) left us toxic and open to quite frankly some of the most disgraceful reporting I've ever seen of complete bias and jealousy. In my opinion there are managers we have had previously who if they were in charge at the time, would have worsened the situation around us and added fuel to the fire.
Tuchel represented and defended my club with such a mixture of dignity, humility and passion. The Champions League win was unforgettable and will quite rightly be the shining light in the Tuchel era. But I will forever remember and appreciate how he represented the club in it's darkest hour.
    Thank you Super Tommy Tuchel.

Quite the day for you then!
I do have some doubts but they are more as a result of being used to experienced, top level managers over the last 20 years (with the exception of Lampard but the circumstances at the time felt different).
The English managerial record for winning trophies won't last forever, it's there to be broken and I must say Potter's potential suggests he could be the one to do it.
Spurs wanted him before they got Nuno, and enquired again before Conte. The fact is the trajectory he is heading on, if it isn't us someone else will take that chance on him. We will need to give him time and patience and whilst there is a big gamble with someone needing to gain certain top level experiences here, every elite manager has needed a top club to offer that opportunity to prove themselves.
It's a big and bold move and I do think Boehly/Clearlake deserve credit for that. I feel a mixture of apprehension, excitement and intrigue if I'm being honest simply because he's still very much an unknown entity. It's either going to be a disaster and set us back hugely, or be one of the great masterstrokes of recent times.

TT is his own problem 250+ million spend and 6 games into the league we look mid table at best. The way the team players and performs the book stops at the manager always has done. I liked TT but he made it very hard for himself.

Genuinely gutted and like many others a little shocked the trigger has been pulled this early into the season BUT let's not act asif it's a complete surprise and TT is without blame.
He was making incredibly nieve team selections and the will to make the back 3 work was ultimately what lost the backing of his attacking options.
I sure as Hell hope Potter is the right man for the job.... we knew Bohely might want to start his new regime with a new manager, so this sacking for me, is a pass but the next manager better get his fair shot at building something for the long term.

Something to consider with Potter. His first two seasons at Brighton they finished 15th, then 16th and had real struggles with scoring goals despite the plaudits for the way they tried to play football.
It's easy to look at their top half finish last season and the start of this season and ignore the work and the struggles that he had in the first two years at Brighton.
Are people willing to give him that time here? Both board and fans.

Really hope Potter can at the very least get us looking like a competent side in the final third within a couple of weeks. Surely it’ll take a while to get us looking 100% transformed, but we VERY QUICKLY need to look like we’ve got a clue and some patterns to our attacking play.

See a lot of you here and lots on Twitter who are against Poch. Personally, I’d have either Poch or Potter without complaint.
I don’t hold Poch’s time at PSG against him a single bit just like I didn’t with Tuchel. Much like our own club, it doesn’t matter whether you’re a world class coach or not, you’ll eventually get on the wrong side of the hugely powerful players and get sacked. Nobody is going to succeed there longer than a few years. His Spuds team before it went totally stale were a machine. If he can replicate that here I wouldn’t mind.
Potter could be special and a stroke of genius IF these egomaniac players buy in. Will they listen to a coach from Brighton without a flashy CV?

Although it looked inevitable, it is still some shocking news. He looked and sounded broken yesterday, like he knew it was coming.
Anyway, I will forever be grateful for what TT has done at this club - winning the international trophies and guiding us through the takeover period where he was absolutely stunning and made me a proud Chelsea supporter. I will for sure wish him well. I remember he was unsure of himself managing a big club and Chelsea was supposed to be his final test. Wonder where he will end up next.

Bettinelli is our 3rd choice keeper and not eligible for the B list because he's older than 21 years old and not club-trained anyway.
It matters exactly fuck all whether Broja's included in the A list or the B list because he will still be eligible to play all games in the UCL. Being on the B list is only about age and homegrown status, not about how many games they're going to play.
Mind you the likes of Mount, James and Hudson-Odoi were also on the B list for as long as they were allowed to, even in the season we won the damn thing in 2020/21. Mount played 11 games and James played 10 games that season, all while being registered on the B list.
If Broja were to be registered on the A list because of 'respect' or some other non-sensical reason, then Chukwuemeka would have missed out because he's not eligible for the B list having not been at the club for a long enough time. By putting Broja on the B list we have actually managed to squeeze in one extra player who might as well get some valuable opportunities to play if/when the group qualification is confirmed and there are still some dead rubber games left to play.
