  1. Put it this way, if our attacking talent decides to put in the effort in the final third...it should be a good win. If we turn up complacent and let them get any half chances, could easily be a frustrating 1-1 draw.
  2. The worst part is, I'd still play him ahead of Disaster/Badi. Would be awesome to see the club get a proper CB in the next transfer window, would increase our chances of getting top 4 this season.
  3. Bigger waste than Lukaku & Mudryk? Squad players, not sure what fans expect from a young defender and a defender that came on a free from Fulham 😆
  4. Stayed at PSG too long, should have moved on a few years ago to develop his game. Funny thing is, he's like the worst profile fit for Real Madrid. His skill set would have been more useful for the likes of Liverpool on the break, the way Salah/Gakpo/Diaz broke the game open, that's what Mbappe thrived on in his earlier years.
  5. Even the player you mentioned was an unproven striker at Coventry but fast forward 2-3 years and he's leading the line in Portugal, playing for national team and scoring for fun. I wouldn't be surprised if Delap is putting up solid numbers in a few seasons time, you can see the raw talent he has, had multiple opportunities to wreck United on the break in the last PL game. Focus should definitely be on a reliable GK first (in the mould of Cech, Courtois), then worry about Striker.
  6. IIRC, we paid Leicester like 30 million for Drinkwater even though he had no business moving to Chelsea as compensation for Kante's low transfer fee. Kante was definitely leaving in that window and one of the transfer reporters confirmed with Leicester that we jumped in before Arsenal could negotiate the transfer.
  7. Who is going to 'buy' mudryk from us? The best we can hope for is a loan spell where he does well and maybe we negotiate a permanent deal the following season...
  8. Anyone who has been able to follow/track the development of Paez, what's his best position? Is he a winger or more of a midfielder? Don't we already have a backup RB from the academy? Acheampong IIRC or is he still looking to walk on a free transfer
  9. I wouldn't mind Semenyo from Bournemouth as a squad player, that guy is just pure chaos in the final third of the pitch 😃
  10. Kelleher is a #2, if he was that good, why did Liverpool go out and sign Valencia's keeper?
  11. He'd be fine as a rotation player for mid-table sides. People are writing him off because he doesn't fit at Chelsea but that's on Enzo for bringing him here.
  12. I don't see us getting him, I remember reading somewhere his dream was to be Real Madrid player sooner or later.
  13. Think most managers out there will keep their star playmaker on the pitch for as long as possible (unless they are injured or you really need to shake things up on the pitch). Imagine the headlines if we lost the game and Palmer was subbed off early just for Felix/Nkunku to be ineffective on the pitch as super subs.
  14. If we don't get top 4, it'll be one of two reasons: 1. Sanchez being prone to errors 2. CB issues as we have no depth (wouldn't trust Badiashile or Disasi for an extended run of games).
  15. I'd be surprised if we get a point from them (without Palmer in the team). Our defenders and GK seem prone to giving away fouls in the box and you just know Kai will want to make a statement against his former club.
  16. Not that surprising, quality player and if he's fit, should be playing regularly for both club & country.
  17. Maybe if his parent club were keen to negotiate, he would be playing PL football this season.
  18. they only won the UCL last season because they beat Bayern by a marginal VAR goal and then Dortmund collapsed in the final when it mattered most. If they win it this season, it will just prove how poor the rest of the European teams are.
  19. thats what happens when you have 2 LW's who are automatic starters every game and no balance in midfield.
  20. He rejected the contract extension and it was either sell him for a fee or let him walk next season for free (which doesn't help with our FFP issues).
  21. We'd be short in midfield though if he was to leave in January. Feel like end of season with Santos returning from a solid loan spell in Ligue 1 would be win win for everyone.
  22. I feel like we lost our chance at Duran in the previous window. Delap is raw but has the skills and he's also a City academy player so fits in the Maresca mold just like Mr. Sancho 😁
  23. This is just a nice way of saying "no club has offered a serious transfer fee for this player and a loan wouldn't really benefit anyone". Same with Carney, Disasi...all bench players that aren't needed.
  24. We also got a bonus for Tino moving to Newcastle as his original deal with Southampton had a sell on fee for us (think the reports were saying 25-30% IIRC). Always thought from the academy days that Solanke was going to end up the best striker of the lot, even Mourinho mentioned years ago that the kid had it all, just needed to develop consistency in his game. Feels weird seeing him at Spurs though 😆
  25. The problem with playing United is their players have a knack of scoring those 50/50 chances (Garnacho, Bruno, Rashford etc) and they will definitely be out to prove a point to Amorim. Hopefully the team shows up for a battle as otherwise, I can see it becoming quite one sided.
