I feel like alot of clubs are going to be chasing Essugo in the summer. Looks a proper midfield talent.
-
How does the buyback work though? Let's say someone bids 60 million for Delap, do City still get to buy him back at 40 million or do they waive that right and get some sort of sell on clause instead? Would make sense for City to just activate the clause and sell him to the highest bidder. No wonder why they wanted that clause into O'Reilly's deal.
-
He was fine at Monaco, keep him to his limited role and he'll be fine. I didn't get why the club/Maresca decided to use him as a RB, he wasn't a great defender to begin with and then you put him up against wingers and attacking mids....
-
Well....at least we didn't add that Brighton striker! That's a massive positive from the window.
-
Probably also the fact that teams are now looking to drop off our other attackers and focus on marking Palmer, keeping him away from the box where possible. It's a shame but top 4 is well and truly gone, and if Potter does beat us at the Bridge, leaves plenty of question marks for Maresca's future.
-
Looking at that front line, you take Palmer out and we aren't any better than mid-table. United reject on one side, ex-Spurs youth on the other and then we get the guy from Wolves who can run around but doesn't know how to score 😆
-
Obi Mikel just needs to critic Jackson again, that's what had him in form and converting those half chances earlier in the season, trying to prove a point. Now look at him, seems like he's forgotten how to score goals and that's a bad sign for a young striker.
-
If we are actually loaning out Felix, we are not a serious football club. 😆
-
We signed Pep's assistant, we got Joe Shields who is from City and loves their academy talent (pushed for Lavia even with his injury concerns). We then signed Sancho because he was from City's academy... I bet the next 2 targets on the club's wish list are: Delap and O'Reilly.
-
Odegaard will give Havertz some free tap-ins and then we'll have to watch him celebrate against us. We looked scared to take on City and then Arsenal humiliate them in the 2nd half of their game.... Maresca will go to the media after we get hammered by Arsenal and say: "We try to be brave".
-
They have Salah and then x-factors like Diaz, Gakpo, Jota
-
Great, now we're stuck with a player that doesn't want to be here. Will be same as Felix, just waiting around on the bench.
-
I reckon Disasi still goes on deadline day. With the Carney to Dortmund rumors, wouldn't that take up the international loan spot?
-
Garnacho isn't deadweight, he actually has the skills and is much better than both Sancho and Madueke. Deadweight is having Nkunku and Felix sitting around on the bench, either play them or let them go elsewhere.
-
Would they sell their best player in january, they have every chance of fighting Leicester/Wolves for 17th place in the PL this season.
-
Arsenal wanted Sesko as well but Leipzig said no transfer in January, doubt that changes.
-
It would be weird seeing Tomori in a Spurs kit. I'm surprised we didn't bring him back to the club.
-
He only moved here because Atletico wouldn't sign Gallagher without one of their players moving to Chelsea. It doesn't matter if he took a pay cut or not, he tried to fight with Simeone. If there's 3 managers you don't want to fight against, it's Mourinho, Conte and Simeone. 😆 It was supposed to be Samu but then the club decided to change the deal last minute.
-
Well....people on this forum can't complain, Ferguson is a striker....and he ticks the boxes for our sporting directors 😆: Young (yes) From Brighton (yes)
-
Probably Spurs, they have so many injuries right now, Tel would get plenty of minutes. Feel like United would only happen if Garnacho or Rashford leave.
-
You forgot to add the young perma-wrecked CB and our captain/best fullback playing 10 games a season. 🤔
-
Don't forget, this is also Potter's chance to prove a point at the Bridge. They'll be up for this one
-
Just what we need another unknown youngster to add to the stockpile of talent. The people who handle our transfers must be playing Football Manager in their spare time 😄
-
Players also lose motivation and have egos. Not every player is going to be 'team-first' and happily come onto the pitch and try to make a difference. The problem for Maresca is that not one of our attackers (bar Palmer) is consistent enough to be first choice on the team sheet. Neto, Sancho, Mudryk (before he got banned), Madueke...are all the same, decent players on their day but not consistent game changers. Same can be said for Jackson, but he's got plenty of room to improve and become a quality striker. It says a lot when our best attacker (talent wise) Nkunku is nowhere near his early season form and he's keen to leave after seeing a few months of Maresca's tactics.
-
He's basically had a season and a bit of senior coaching experience (Parma and then Leicester in the championship). Leading City's development side with a bunch of talented youngsters at his disposal doesn't count. I can see why he maybe doesn't have the guts to 'drop' players like previous managers. Conte/Mou/Tuchel would have killed this current team with this pathetic attitude.
