You reckon paying 40+ million for average Toney is any better? Osimhen had a decent skill set, Toney is actually as average as they come. 😆
-
Calafiori was right there to take from Serie A but Arteta was more serious than us and decided to shore up his defense! It's such a shame as we have a decent enough attack to go for top 4 but our defense and GK situation will cost us against the big teams this season.
-
"Limped over the line"...in all honesty, we had them beaten in the first leg and if the players could actually finish in front of goal, it would have been an easy 4+ goal lead going into a dead rubber 2nd leg. With this squad and the rubbish defenders we had on display today (Disaster and Badiashile should never be in the backline together again), I had a strong feeling we would struggle away from home.
-
Take your pick: Toney or DCL 😆
-
Will be interesting to see where Washington ends up...was expecting him to get an international loan as staying with U-21's doesn't help his development at all.
-
Such a shame about his injuries, was supposed to be another talented attacking midfielder from the academy, bit like Loftus-Cheek. Hopefully he does well for Empoli
-
Realistically, if it's not VO and we end up with Toney or even worse like DCL at Everton....what a waste of a transfer window 🤬
-
PSG have had the whole transfer window to convince him, but they haven't even bid for him. 😆 At this point, he's either coming to the PL or he'll be forced to accept the Saudi deal.
-
He was on the "old" deal with Boehly, probably similar to Fofana (CB). I think they stopped handing out ridiculous wages like 300k a week for the new signings...
-
Put it this way, if he's going to the Saudi League at just 25 years of age (and supposedly in the prime of his career), he'll just be remembered as a money hungry footballer. At least CR7, Benzema went after winning titles and achieving many records. Also, I wouldn't rule out a late late bid from Arsenal...remember, they're getting 30 mil for Eddie and I'm sure Arteta would love a proper striker up top with the team they have..
-
If we're able to offer Casadei as part of the deal, could be less than 65m.
-
Well there's three massive wages that need to get off the books - Sterling, Kepa and Chilwell (assuming the Lukaku - Napoli saga is over). If we're lucky, someone comes in for Disasi and I'm expecting Carney to be sold off.
-
I don't see him scoring 10+ goals in a season in either of those leagues. Feel like the only coach that would 'improve' him right now is De Zerbi...
-
Not surprising, wonder who Brentford will be after as a replacement. We should be offering them D. Fofana/Washington/any other attacker not needed.
-
Haven't seen any links for Chilwell or Sterling (other than the Sancho swap deal which makes zero sense).
-
No one is buying Disasi. Newcastle are likely to get Guehi which will give us a decent sell on profit.
-
It's not about potential, it's about getting an inflated fee for a player who needs to be developed. Right now Duran isn't a 50 million striker and Villa would take that deal any day of the week as Emery would just go into his Spanish contacts and find another attacker. Atletico tried to do that with Samu and if it wasn't for that last minute change, we would have paid 40+ million for him...
-
Will probably be similar to the side we used for the 1st Leg. No need to risk Palmer. Give some minutes to Jorgensen, Veiga, KDH, Nkunku, guessing Tosin will come in at CB.
-
We should be more worried about selling off Sterling/Chilwell/Chalobah/Badiashile (to make way for a better CB).
-
At least he's off the books for this season. Funny thing is, even with Kepa's limitations, he's still a better keeper than Sanchez. I still don't get how Sanchez is the #1 keeper, he wouldn't be more than 3rd choice at any other side going for top 4
-
He should be offered to Marseille, where he can reunite with his old boss De Zerbi.
-
Even United wouldn't be that stupid to accept Sterling's wage package, they already have Rashford on the left, don't think they need another english winger.
-
LINE-UP – Wolves vs Chelsea XI: Sanchez, Gusto, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella, Caicedo, Fernandez, Palmer, Madueke, Mudryk, Jackson SUBS: Jorgensen, Tosin, Badiashile, Veiga, Dewsbury-Hall, Neto, Nkunku, Joao Felix, Guiu From the PL site...Lavia's not even on the bench.
-
If the scoreline is 3-1, it'll be for Wolves.

Also on SkySports, he may have failed his medical.... Latest from Sky Sports News' Dharmesh Sheth: Sky Sports News understands the deal to take Chelsea forward Armando Broja to Ipswich is unlikely to happen at this stage. There are reports it has broken down at the paperwork stage. However, one source has told us his medical highlighted an issue. As a result - as it stands - the deal has stalled. https://www.skysports.com/football/live-blog/31771/12476234/transfer-centre-live-latest-updates-on-raheem-sterling-mikel-merino-manuel-ugarte-and-more?postid=8171050#liveblog-body
