I think Alonso would be even worse in a back four. He'll have only two centerbacks as cover instead of three. From City's passing images above, it's clear he's been targeted now because of his lack of pace and cahill's poor one on one ability. Hazard too is more forward than Pedro/willian on the other side too, so adding fabregas close to him was just overkill.
-
I know he contributed to the problems KDB, navas and sometimes silva caused mostly attacking from the right wing (Matic usually filled in at centre-back when Cahill followed the runner behind Alonso.... fabregas didn't do this which caused 3 v 2 situations à lot) but I was impressed with fabregas staying centrally beside kante, disciplined, not leaving gaps in and roaming anywhere he likes. It looks like Conte has actually helped him with that.

After 14 rounds, we can now make the "Anyone Can Beat Anyone In The Premier League" circle

Squawka Football @Squawka Jose Mourinho has now taken just 36 points from his last 30 games in the Premier League: DLWLLWDLWLLLWDLLWWWLLWDDLDWDDD

Hahahaha... Hazard needs to keep shooting more, in the first half he almost found the corner with a curler and then he refused to shoot with his left after dribbling bravo, l wanted to pull my hair out loool. Fantastic finish in the end, he and Willian made kolarov look as slow as my grandma.
-
Apparently he also went first to the press before Conte, which made Conte leave without doing a proper press conference as he would've missed his train had he waited for Pep to finish. Usually the home manager lets the away manager speak to the press first exactly to avoid stuff like this, but Pep didn't care. (source: http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2016/12/3/13829362/manchester-city-chelsea-conte-manager-post-match-reaction) It's exactly like everything else he does, he tries to make people believe that he is a great person, but that deep down that is all fake. He is often disrespectful, but manages to keep it down to stuff people won't notice or talk about, like refusing to shake Fabregas' hand or going first to the press.

My betting jinx worked again.... The winning goes on

Red for aguero!!! Hahahahahaha

Yeeeesssssss!!!!!!!!!!

He hasn't been dribbling anymore since after the international break. We've been giving excuses for him but it's fairly obvious he isn't dribbling as usual. Hazard why didn't you shoot, damn
-
Hopefully fabregas picks passes that unlocks the defence, and makes us more deadly on the counter.
-
My hope is Guardiola didn't anticipate this fabregas change and won't have a plan to attack him specifically. We know how poor he is defensively, especially as he might be playing beside Alonso and cahill who are the weaker side of our defenders, I'm hoping fabregas compensates in attack.
-
And we're not even playing with a 3-5-2 to protect fabregas defensive weakness. Not good, Pedro and hazard will have to work their socks off today.
-
I hope Matic isn't injured, there’s no way fabregas can play against mancity in a 3-4-3. So a Matic injury could force a formation switch to 3-5-2. A more defensive formation, but it will hurt our counters and depend on fabregas vision in finding that pass to costa that could change the match.

Well, we have won every single game since I started betting against Chelsea to win and adding wins for our other top four rivals.

I found some quotes on Courtois talking tactics with skysports. He likes tactics a lot from what I can tell.

Fantastic training video. We're training on first time passes against high pressing and training on how to stop quick passing at the same time, brilliant. Conte is counting the number of touches before each interception. I never knew that this channel exists, I'm subscribing now....
-
Pedro already has more open play goals and assists than Willian had the whole of last season.
-
I'm more worried about the fact that he has a full week to prepare for us. Especially how tottenham showed some of our weaknesses in the first half, Guardiola will be looking to exploit that. But hopefully we play with intensity and hazard has a great game so that we win.
-
First 3 games: 14 shots (2 goals); Next 4 games: 5 shots (0 goals); Next 4 games: 15 shots (5 goals); Last 2 games: 2 shots (0 goals) Inconsistent in shooting. We've still been dangerous in attack because of the fantastic consistency of Costa and Moses but we can never reach our attacking potential without hazard shooting more, being hungry for goals.

This is the type of quality signing we need. I don't want us to buy quick fixes that cannot immediately get into our starting lineup, Tottenham went and paid 25mil for Jansen and 30mil for sissoko to help the squad and both have been flops, winks(their Academy player) has performed better than sissoko. Our bench is already stronger than Liverpool, Manutd and tottenham so I don't want any cuadrados, no salah's, no baba's, no djilaboji, instead let's be patient and get guaranteed quality like (kurzawa, dybala, Griezmann, Verratti, etc) With Verratti, we can play 3 midfielders against the big teams so that we don't get outnumbered in the midfield or sacrifice our attacking quality due to Verratti's vision/passing. But to be fair, every team suffers against intense pressing, Barcelona should have lost against a magnificent real socieldad yesterday after being thoroughly outplayed and pressured.

Remember when we used to complain whether he practices training sessions with us?? How our players looked confused everytime?? Good times
