Our defense is a curse to this club. When Conte first came, he intended to play with a very attacking 4-4-2/4-2-4 formation but the defence don't know what to do when defending one on one so Conte scrapped this for 4-3-3/4-5-1. Till now we're still conceding 2 goals per game and we're looking at the possibility of us moving into a very defensive 3-5-2 just to accommodate our defense. This defence is a huge burden to bear. 😔

Honestly I'm hoping Conte gives this formation a try. We have a lot of problems but the major one is conceding 2 goals a game. Conte doesn't press, so the formation we're using is useless since we won't be able to cover all the spaces when sitting back and soaking pressure. But 3-5-2 might provide the much needed security we desperately need at the back

But if he played on the counter, did he sit deep like we've been doing or did he press the opponent when they had the ball. I just want to know if Conte ever implemented a pressing system before. Because so far this season, pressing doesn't seem to be a part of Conte's tactics. This will work against the smaller teams because we'll keep the possession as he's been training us to do, but against big teams that can keep the ball better than us?? Surely we've got to be pressing them into mistakes because this team does not know the meaning of defend. Unless the soaking pressure style works with a 3-4-3

You watched Juventus a lot when Conte was there, if I remember correctly. Why doesn't Conte press the opponent ??? Why does he like us to soak pressure and build play slowly instead of pressing and attacking quickly with intensity?? This is what I've noticed against two teams that can keep the ball better than us. If that's what we're going to be doing against every big team, then we have even bigger problems than I thought.

Willian does his stepovers and when he normally can't beat his man, he passes back to ivanovic or he puts in a stupid low cross that doesn't get to costa. Good on paper, horrible on the pitch.

Solve our defense. Switch to 3-5-2 if it means we stop conceding 2 goals a game.

Offers nothing else once his dribbling isn't working. Nothing else

Gone quiet for a few weeks by his standards. Hopefully he turns up the dribbling against arsenal.

I would go as far as saying that he's been our best player this season so far. The runs he makes off the ball creates 50% of our chances already.

Exactly this line-up against arsenal. Even if we lose, keep playing it till we get some chemistry going.

I like how Conte is making us play out from the back. Eventually we'll become good at it if we keep on doing it. Or maybe it's because we had Luiz, Alonso and Azpi at rightback which made it the most technical backline we've had in years.

Willian that's how to give your fullback a torrid time. By far better than anything I've seen from willian this season. If he gets better at his delivery, we could have serious threat from the right wing for the first time in years. Unfortunately he needs to cost 30mil to start.

Attacking football from Conte. If our defenders knew their jobs, we'll be a very good team under his watch. I love how he's making the defence learn how to pass from the back, it must be a new phenomenon to be forced to pass from the back

Hopefully that works. I just don't know anymore. But we create more chances under Conte compared to our last 3 seasons. It's so unfortunate he has to deal with a defence that concedes 2 a game.

Conte should just change to a 3-5-2 and protect our defense. We cannot defend to save our lives. I said before that our defense holds this team back from attacking and will force Conte to change to cope with the shambles. Well it's come faster than I thought. Leicester don't even have to play well, just any attack is a goal or nearly a goal.

Watching one of football's best defense turning into a circus is just incredible

Hopefully he's given a chance to start alongside hazard. Would love Willian in the middle so that we can have another mobile and technical player there which will improve our fluidity immediately.

We really need someone like him that can make things happen and provide goal threat when Hazard has his off days. Then Willian can move to the box to box role in midfield.

According to Whoscored, Courtois has saved only 5 of the 11 shots on target against Chelsea this season. I know how hard I have to think to remember which game he saved us out of trouble, but it's either the stats is making him look average or he's one of the most unlucky keepers I've seen in my life.

His speed is a fraud. Why do we always hear that he's fast when he cannot get past the leftback. Everytime silly stepovers and cross on the ground which never beats the first man. He's no winger, he doesn't have the mentality for this. Moses should play there. He's good on the ball in tight spaces and will fit in the middle. Look at Liverpool, we thought wjnaldum will not fit in midfield but he's working well there, Willian would be even better there.

Reminds me of Peter crouch when he turns. So lanky, slow and clumsy on the ball. He's far better just defending. Box to box is not for him. Play him in kantes position or put fabregas in his place imo.

David luiz was good, along with Azpi who kept mane quiet. Costa and kante were decent, the rest were shocking We're so poor on the ball, Oscar, Matic and Ivanovic are so average. We must replace these three deadweights if we ever want to see a top attacking team in this club. Matic is looking like Peter crouch on the turn, so lanky/clumsy on the ball I think Matic should be moved back to Kantes position or should not start anymore. His presence isn't stopping the goals from being conceded, Get fabregas in the team asap so that we have someone who can pass in midfield. Willian is pointless on the wing, he's clearly faster than Milner and has the technique to dribble him but does he have the mental strength to attempt to make things happen ???? No. Stepovers and cross to the first man, repeat. He should play in Oscars position. At least compared to Oscar, he can run with the ball and offer pace through the middle. Moses may not be quality but he has more balls to attack his marker than Willian will ever have in his career. Moses should play on the right. Ivanovic, is a fraud. Who the heck made him vice captain ?? Is that why he's starting no matter how shit he plays??? Alonso should start Asap. Move Azpi to the right back position so that we have much needed balance. Hazard is now looking as inconsistent as Oscar these days. He decides to take on defenders when he likes, he decides to make things happen when he's "in the mood" two straight games of Oscar level performances is not good enough. Unfortunately hazard playing poorly just shows how useless a threat Willian and Oscar are on the other side going forward. Conte must be shocked at the quality of the team. Liverpool might not be a very good side but apart from Henderson, every player they have in the midfield and attack is better on the ball than ours. This is why they look so fluid when attacking and we look mechanical. Matic looks like Peter crouch when turning, Oscar looks like he needs to be carried about and Willian does his stepovers and crosses can't beat the first man. Ivanovic too is horrible on crosses compared to clyne. Our board wants attacking football but keeps buying players who are technically inept. Loosing to Liverpool is so annoying. Damn scousers.....
