I like that second point u made. We are looking too one dimensional. We will beat any team if we just have to defend and counter, but if we have to go forward, pass and create chances in possession, we have become piss poor. I just don't like this at all. We can't pass and create anything in possession its borderline annoying. Look at madrid, Ancelloti has improved their possession play and they are still good in counter attacking like before. Look at athletico, they are a pure counter attacking side, but they can string passes in possession, their full backs get forward, and they are still good if teams defend, without any perfect pivot (thiago and suarez) so pivot is not an excuse for us. The only reason why they couldn't create much in their home is because we parked the bus. No one can beat us when we do that, not even barcelona and liverpool. But were becoming too one dimensional, only counterattacking but not creative in possession and its killing me. Just look at how athletico were solid defensively but can still construct good passing going forward with their fullbacks attacking. We need to do that more we have no excuse if athletico can play well in possession.

But what if ramires, matic and sometimes luiz are enough to provide the needed experience in CM? Compared to what ramires has played since january 2014 I'll comfortably say MVG > ramires. Mourinho likes box to box players in the midfield beside DM's like matic so I don't think he'll buy this modric type player to play in front of the defence. In madrid, even when he played attacking football, he used alonso and khedira. So far, we've got our alonso in matic(he moulding him to be that way imo) and he's looking for the physical box to box player that can pass and shoot. That's why I believe the rumors for vidal. And only vidal, pogba and martinez are players we can buy that will massively improve that box to box area. So is it not better to just promote them from our academy if all these QUALITY improved players are not readily available? Bcos I don't want us to spend another 20mil on a Guarin level player, when some of our youth can get there(if given time)

I think we shouldn't buy any CM's again. We should try out RLC, Baker and Vanginkel next season beside matic. They can comfortably take lampard and mikel's spots in the team and finally give our youths inspiration that they can make it here.

Is he mobile? Like up to modric? And is he strong on the ball physically??

Ribery was terrible. Bayerns strength lies on the fact that they have 2 hazard level players on BOTH flanks so if you double one, you leave too much space for the other one. But ribery was non existent so they didn't even need to double mark him. Pep should have subbed him off earlier. Madriid deserve to go through.

We will improve next season. I just wish he had already started the process this season so that it'll be easier for him. Like for example, yesterday we could have also used a tactics that spain use which is to hold the ball without attacking much and still keeping shape defensively. That way, there will be no pressure on us and we can have more dimensions to our game instead of being one dimensional. But sometimes we can't string 5 passes together and its beginning to look funny. If by next season we get our striker, mourinho then focuses on our attack around him like he focused on our defence this season, we could see madrid 2012 style for us. But we should have started training/practicing on it this season to make progress faster. Your right about all our attackers bar hazard not being able to produce anything special on their own and still end up missing sitters once in a while. Its a problem but I hope it has more to do with adaptation and not ability.
